There were some xbox models that came out with faulty power wires which in turned caused fires... Or something like that...
Yes, there are two versions of the XBOX out there. The first version was released with a faulty power cable that was causing fires. So if you're XBOX was registered, they automatically send you a new one.
The "second" XBOX they released was slightly faster, with a little more storage space and had the corrected power cable with it.

Mine really dosn't leave the garage. People across the street think it is a tool bench.
I may be wrong but I believe that the 2nd gen XBOX came out the holiday season following the primary release.
