The 2 Best female vocalists to ever live... PERIOD. Find me a woman who can bury either of these and I'll show you that you're a liar.

    1) Rachelle Farrell - I Can Explain

    ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2uD_MUu55U

    2) Minnie Ripperton - Inside My Love (Mariah Carey owe's her stratospheric notes to Minnie - watch when she gets wound up)

    Kurt Cobain
    Steve Perry
    Mike Ness
    Freddie Mercury
Heart Lead singer is a good one, wouldnt have thought of her.

I think Steven Tyler has to be in there somewhere. Maybe not one of the best voices, but hes got one of the best rock screams.

Hetfield is a distinct sound as well.

    Les Paul lol

David Lee Roth for sure is in my top 10

Steven Tyler is a monster, just not quite on the same level IMO. David Lee Roth back in the day was right there with em though.

Steve Perry is my number 1 though. Probably because we have similar tone and timbre and I cover a lot of Journey LOL. I only wish I had his control. I stay in key but damn.

Oh and the new Journey lead singer Arnel Pineda. Holy fuck. Monster.

Is that the guy they found in the Phillipines? I damn near fell out of my chair when I heard him. I saw an interview where Perry is a little pissed about it.

Yes, and he is a fucking monster. I don't think Perry would be pissed. He does not want to be a part of Journey anymore. The last interview I saw several years ago, he doesn't care anymore.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Perry Farrell and Davey Havok are 2 of the best vocalists of the last 20 years that havent been mentioned yet.

The singer from Boston really just sounded the same in every song so I'd omit him from the list. Talent means being able to change your sound depending on the mood of the song, when you're in a band where every song sounds like a hit and they all sound the same you're just following a formula.

But I would say Freddie Mercury would be my #1 pick. Roy Orbison would be a #2.

Regardless of the fact he is a shitty human being, Axl Rose was just that good in his prime. Appetite for Destruction is one of the rare albums where everyone is on top of their game, not a bad track on it, and phenomenal vocals.

Haha howard from KSE, Matt Bellamy from Muse, kinda falsetto, but good nonetheless. Just trying to name more modern talented vocalists.
