alright, i'm watching a show about if the earth had no moon. i knew the moon had a lot to do with the way the earth functions, as in seasons and whatnot, but i did not know it helped the earth stay on its axis and kept it from staying within proper orbit with the sun.


anyone else seen this?

i always catch myself watching very informative shows that feed me a bunch of info that i will never need to know. i love it!

yeah ive seen that show but it makes complete sense not hard to understand. Hopefully we will never detonate a huge weapon on the moon and make it fall apart lol..i think its a pretty fragile piece of crap floating 250,000 miles away.

I was thinking the exact same thing after reading the OP's post. I dont think thats an impossible task either.

More than likely, we will. We are just too damm stupid to leave that thing alone for long. Hell we already shot rockets into it in an effort to find out if theres water there. So the first step was taken.

Give it a while, we'll find a way to fuck it up. Companies are already selling plots of land on it......and dumbasses are buying.

Happens all the time to as well. Discovery, HGTV, TRUTV, NATGEO always sucker me with shows like that. Just surfing through and all of a sudden you see a scene that looks cool and you get reeled in. An hour or so later, you've realized that you just watched something that you will have no use for in your lifetime. Fun though. Later, QD.

its not the getting it to understand, its more its affects so many things that are relevant to us being here. but yea, the way scientist are, we are gonna eventually kill ourselves off. takin out the moon would be the worst way. i'd rather be blind folded and shot in the head. at least i don't see it coming and it would be quick and easy. takin the moon out will be slow and painful. turning the deserts into alice's winter wonderland and Antarctica into the sahara.


like i knew before, the moon controlled the levels of the ocean water, which is why we have high and low tides, but i didn't know it kept us on a steady axis where it just doesn't turn and shit like it pleases.

learning new shit that will be of no use in my entire life is fucking awesome. it was on the science channel. discovery, history, and just about all other shows that are very informative i'm always watching.

What's sad is that is not the worst way we could destroy humankind. I love those shows though, The Universe on the History channel is one of my favorite shows.
