I think he's a better QB than Eli Manning so he deserves it. Eli got all that money because he won a Super Bowl. A great achievement, but that doesn't mean he is the better QB.

How the fuck is he a better QB than Eli Manning? Philip Rivers has had great talent around him for years that is better than Eli Manning's supporting cast. LT, Sproles, Michael Turner, Chambers, and not to mention Antonio Gates. Eli Manning had an unmotivated Tiki Barber for a couple seasons, older wide receivers, and an offensive line that wasn't as good as the Chargers for years. Burress was gone last season and he STILL took the Giants to the playoffs, even though they had a decimated defense and no No. 1 wide receiver or tight end.

If Philip Rivers is the better quarterback then why isn't he the one wearing a Super Bowl ring on his finger?

wow x2, rivers may have better stats, but he is not a playmaker like eli i guess, which is why eli has the ring.

well, if you think about it, its all about results, not stats. Rivers had his chances. Rivers had tomlison, gates, merriman, etc etc

If tit was truly about results, then there is no reason why Eli gets paid more than his big brother or Brady.

exactly, a QB can have sky high stats, but that doesnt mean he will have a successful season. I dont understand why rivers doesnt have a ring yet.

Trying the whole broncos vs charger shit. I tend to think most chargers are douchebags to be honest.

I like Rivers a lot. he shows a great tenacity for the game, and i like the controversy between him and jay cutler. showed me that he is a true competitor

He doesn't open his mouth in press conferences like he does on the field.

He has been shown REPEATEDLY on the field exhibiting poor sportmanship and trash talking other quarterbacks and fans.

The dude is a douchebag to say the least and has zero class. Good QB. Terrible attitude.

97% of the Chargers get butt hurt constantly. Example one is Tomlinson when he doesn't score 3 or more touchdowns in a game he cries about it for 2 weeks, another example is the playoff game 2 years ago I believe against the Patriots when the Patriots mocked Merriman, he was more offended than him and he did look like he was about to cry about it. And as far as him being the best running back ever, I don't think the best ever but definetly top 5.

Rivers is a junior version of Eli, as in he's always trying to outdo him but always falls short of it and then he shows bad spotmanship as it was stated above. The game against the Broncos was when I lost all hope/respect for him. He's good but not $92 million good. I doubt Eli is even that good but he's the franchise player so they had to give him a good amount of money.

    I can't believe that you're actually serious.

In no particular order: Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, OJ, Walter Payton. The list goes on...

As far as active players go, sure LT is in the top 5.

Someone questioned why Eli is making more than his brother, I'm just saying he produced results faster than his brother
