    Default Already another WoW Exp.

    Details have already leaked, two weeks prior to BlizzCon about the next exp, planned for Q4 this year or late Q1 2010. This might be the nail in the coffin for WoW. Alot of the boards are already bashing the game and up coming exp called World of Warcraft: World of the Cataclism(sp). Featuring a new zone, 2 new race skins, no new classes, and 5 more lvls!

    Aka... The same thing as the first ----> second exp ------> third exp and know the fourth! Alot of the people on the boards are already talking about cancelling the subscribition if the game has no real content changes in the next exp!

    Not really. Its about time that WoW comes to an end. Every great next generation mmorpg that comes about and last has a life span. EQ being one to set the curve. But the avg time span for a game to start, become great, last at the top through a few exp, is its climax. This next exp will be its start downward. People are starting to relieaze the game will see zero content changes anymore. LoTR and War where suppose to each be the next generation game that comes out and dethrones WoW but each failed. The only next true generation game that coming thats going to change mmorpgs is Star Wars.

    EQ; Released in 98 last till around 03/04; Still around, but with a sub. base of maybe 100k hardcore fans.
    SWG; Released in early 03 last till around 06/07; dam near dead
    WoW; Released late 05? still around but slowing down

    These are some of the contender games I could think about that really set the stage/level for mmo's. But with each, in the time of EQ what games come out worth noting?

    EQ ---> EQ2(flop); Lineage 1/2 ...
    SWG -----> Guild Wars; Matrix; CoH...
    WoW----->Warhammer; LoTR

    There where probably more minor mmo's that came and went, but each game hits a point where it just starts lacking content and starts to fail. Hell EQ went strong for 5 years before it passed its peak, SWG last about 3 years then got reuined by its creators, and WoW has been around 4 years and is just about to pass its peak.

    Nature of the games!

    more or less, they're bringing back things that people may have missed back in vanilla wow.

    Not everyone was able to pug 39 other people and sucessfully killed onyxia, ragnaros or nefarion.

    they're also doing away with a lot of stats and bring it back to basic necessities, to remove a lot of the math-crafting that came along with BC's bloated ways.

    it's really 50/50 for me atm, they don't want you to kill their poster boy Arthas just yet, because they know as soon as he dies people are gonna leave the game.

    regardless as soon as SC2 and Diablo3 come out i'm gone, Arthas dead or not.
