    Default Plaxico Gets 2 Years

The legal system is really jacked up. I know there are different circumstances and state laws for every crime, but this is crazy. The guy agrees to two years in prison which means the state was going for much more. Stallworth kills someone and gets 30 days, Vick kills some dogs and gets a year behind bars (federal). Plaxico was carrying a gun that accidentally went off and hurt no one but himself and gets two years in prison. From what I understand if the gun was registered in NY it would have been no problem at all. Pretty soon we're going to start getting locked up for stepping on the grass and killing plants without a license.

    yeah....very.....

Stallworth = 24 days for killing a man
Burress = 2 years for shooting himself in the foot

Boo-fucking-hoo. Anyone who walks around with their finger on the trigger of an unregistered gun with the safety off deserves it. Plaxico is a dumb-ass, plain n' simple.

Did Stallworth get off easily? Duh, but he also paid the family of the victim a ton of money and that's obviously all they cared about.

the Stalworth case is irrelevant in this case. Money talks, B.S. walks.

N.Y. has some of the toughest gun laws, and this proves it. He will probably only serve 9 months and get out on paroll. Rodger Goddell on the other hand is going to make an example out of him, just like Vick.

Yes, I'm a badass because Plaxico is a dipshit and knowingly broke the law. Flawless logic you have there.

I agree that Stallworth's case is totally irrelevant here, just responding to it as it was brought back up ITT. Like you said, money talks and that's all the victim's family wanted out of it/him.

The tough gun laws in NY have really done wonders in curbing crimes with guns havent they.

Plaxico is an idiot, but 2 years is excessive. 2 months to go along with fines would have been appropriate.

I love how Stallworth and Vick are brought into this. Neither are even remotely relevant to this discussion. If you would have brought up Marshawn Lynch, then you would have some semblence of credibility.

Stallworth, family didnt see a dead father/husband in that coffin, they saw dollar signs and they got paid off. As soon as the family openly said they approved of the sentence all bets were off on this case.

Vick, you can call it killing dogs if you want. I call the systematic torture of animals and the money behind an illegal interstate gambling ring. The feds could have locked him for 10 years if they wanted too. All they had to do is connect the ring he was financing to any violent crime. If they connected it to a murder, he could have gotten life.

bottom line is that plaxico is down two years and he didnt even commit a crime towards anyone. two years is a bit harsh, i blame tthe mayor and DA for heavily influencing the outcome here.

I personally brought Stallworth in becuase he should have gotten jail time for that dumb shit. Even if the family only wanted a big payoff, the judicial system should have locked his ass up for at least 2-5. Drunk driving should not be tolerated AT ALL. I wonder if an activist group is going to go ape shit on him for drunk driving? This also touches me because I had 2 neices killed by a drink driver. You have choices, get wasted and: Have a DD, get a cab called, or stay the fuck at home.

Plaxico, well he is just stupid. I'm not saying his charge was excessive, but I would rather take an ass load of his money and suspend him for being just plain stupid. Hell, shooting yourself in the foot is punishment enough, lol.

I am not sure where you are going with the Vick comments. He payed an ass load of money and was locked up. He was wrong plain and simple. He should really be left alone at this point.

The sentences have influenced me to look at court cases of "well off" individuals. Stallworth hit the jackpot though.

2 years is excessive. Thats rediculous. NY gun laws are stupid, and hes an idiot for carrying one (thats what your bodyguards are for) especially IN NY and at a club. I Mean did no one learn anything from Shyne?

Look at what P Diddy was facing and that was in a NY Club.

but 2 years, thats over the top

First of all stallworth case is different. He was onl .01 over the limit the police according to the police report. If he would have stay in the club for another hour he would have been in the legal limit. The guy jump out in front of him so he couldn't stop in time.

Plaxico was given a earlier deal of 3 month time sevre and parole but he peal not guily. He is a stuip and deserve to serve his 14 month with time off for good behavior.

Vick didnt have a choice but to peal guilty he had 3 witness testify against him. The reason the fed was invovle was because it was a interstat grambling ring. If it was just Va against him he would have got 12 parole or less.

I understand not liking the sentence cause I think its BS also. I refuse to say he should have gotten more though because the only people directly affected by it were happier to have the payday than "justice". I will say I give Stallworth credit for manning up after his accident and did not take off like most others would.

I honestly think the DA was making an example out of him. 2 years is excessive for this type of crime as he wasnt directly threatening anyone with it before he shot himself.

My Vick comments were directed towards the people who said Vick's sentence was excessive. It was not and if the feds really wanted to hammer him, instead of just make an example, they could ahve REALLY investigated it. I am 100% sure that there was violence associated with the ring Vick was involved in. All the feds had to do was prove that 1 person was beat up, shot at, killed, whatever, and they could have added 10x+ to his sentence.

Should be interesting to see. I think it can be traced directly to better lawyers, which of course, cost money.
