    Default UFC 101 results

BJ Penn dominated Kenny in a fairly 1 sided fight. Kenny did some good clinch wrestling and worked for a takedown the entire fight and never got close. BJ Punished Kenny exiting the clinch and out boxed him on the feet. Early 4th round BJ slams Kenny and smashes him with elbows, mounts him, takes his back and chokes him out rather quickly. Very dominant win vs a high calibre opponent in Kenny Florian. BJ is SCARY at 155. At this weight, BJ Penn will not lose.

Anderson Silva made a joke of Forrest Griffin, taunting and showboating his way to an extremely humiliating knockout of Forrest Griffin. Anderson with his hands at his side dodging Forrest Griffin's punches in a matrix like manner lands a solid jab that puts Forrest out cold. This fight looked like man vs boy. Anderson Silva haters need to wake up. This is the most dangerous man walking the planet. I'd have a hard time betting against this guy even if he was in the ring with Fedor. p4p best fighter in the world.

Amir got stopped to an onslaught of early strikes. Some argue it was an early stoppage.

Almeida had a really hard time with Grove, i thought he would have submitted Grove rather easily but that wasnt the case, either way, it wasnt enough for Grove. He lost a hard decision.

Josh Neer lost via decision to a Kurt Peligrino who didnt seem like he wanted to engauge. Not much action in this fight as Kurt used his wrestling and top game to win the first 2 rounds. The fight ended with Neer smashing elbows into Kurt and opening a nasty cut, but it was too little too late.

It was definitely early stoppage in Amir's fight. Ridiculously early...

what was w/ forrest at the end of the fight, as soon as he got up he ran (and i mean litterally ran for the ppl who didnt see it) all the way back to the locker room. i think he was crying again like he did after he lost another fight a while back, usually he would at least stay and have the interview and say he got his ass whooped or something. Either way Anderson just made him look like he has never fought in his life.

Broken Orbital bone most likely. It happens with a lot of hockey fighters who take numerous punches in the face over there career.

I wonder if Griffin cut weight to fast and was unhealthy for the fight, saying he is usually around 230-240. Note to make excuses for him bc Silva is a badass!!

Highly disappointed in the Forrest vs. Silva fight, I'm a big fan of both fighters however I was pulling more for Forrest just because he's from GA. I kinda knew in the back of my head that Silva was gonna win but DAMN, that fast? I thought it was atleast gonna go the distance between those two. Especially after seeing Forrest take some serious punishment in other fights and just laugh it off. As far as him running out of the octagon, I have no clue as to what that was about. Many surprises came out of that fight.

Penn vs. Florian, that was a good fight. Penn played if very smart and didn't go all out and run out of steam. As soon as I seen him take Florian's back I knew the fight was over in a matter of seconds.

There are silva haters? lol.. I've been a huge fan of his ever since I saw him absolutely destroy Chris Leben. Dude is the most accurate striker I've ever seen.

Something had to have been wrong with Griffin from earlier in the fight. The punch that sent him down was a walking a way jab, not powerful at all. And the second he hit the ground he threw his hands up like he was giving up. Very embarassing loss for him.
I knew BJ was gonna dominate that fight. He manhandled Sean Sherk in his last fight who has beaten Florian before. BJ has a whole new training camp after his loss to GSP and is determined more than ever now.

Nothing was wrong with Forrest Griffin..... people act like he has this amazing chin and he doesnt. Look at the "brawls" that Griffin has had. Sure... he banged it out with Stephan Bonnar.... Who has Bonnar ever knocked out?????????? He lasted with Tito.. who has never been known to have any kind of punching power, He got KO'd by Keith Jardine who also isnt known for being some amazing puncher. He got knocked out by Rashad Evans... who if you take away the Liddell fight has never been known to have any type of KO power in his hands. Rashad went to decision 6 of his 8 fights leading up to his title shot. He's not a known power puncher. Forrest lasted with Shogun who was obvious in the worst physical shape of his life due to injuries he has since rehabbed and would absolutely murder Forrest if they met again. He lasted with Rampage which is his most impressive display of chin. I'm not exactly sure how this happened, but it doesnt erase previous evidence of Forrest's suspect chin.

According to reports, the first or 2nd Anderson knockdown broke his jaw. So...... watch that KO jab again and factor in that Forrest already had a broken jaw and that its Anderson motherfucking Silva landing the punch.

Personally, I think Forest does have a very very strong chin. But not a strong jaw. Atleast we know why he ran out the octagon now. He needed medical attention. Falling on a broken jaw twice has got to hurt pretty bad. The pain sent him into a shock state they said making him somewhat delusional.

and yes, Anderson has a lot of haters. Sadly, hes probably one of the most dissrespected champions in the UFC. It's certainly not warranted. He's the best fighter in the UFC and probably the best fighter in the world. He gets a lot of critism, im not suprised this isnt something everyone is aware of.

The shots that have knocked Forrest out were not KO shots. Compare Liddell's string of KO's to Forrest. Everytime Liddell got knocked out recently it was like homerun swings landed perfectly. Forrest is getting KO'd by glancing shots and jabs. Anderson could have thumped Forrest and KO'd him.

that is true. But personally, I cant stand seeing chuck fight. I just dont like him for some reason but his KO's are mark mcgwire homerun swings haha. If forest wouldnt of gotten his jaw rocked, and the fight was a little longer (atleast into the second round) it would of been fight of the year. Forest can hold his ground to an extent but not to the extent silva was going to dish it out at.

    Downloading the Silva-Griffin fight now.
Im a fan of both but more of Griffin. I expected Forrest to lose though. I dont like Silva cause he is a showboat. Reminds me of Ali back in the day. Cocky for reason but kinda excessive. BUT a superb fighter that can handle anyone. I cant way to see how long it goes before Dana White finds him a REAL competitor.

Ya i didn't get to watch the fight. But if he was still trying to fight with a broken jaw i'm not taking anything away from the guy. I've always liked Griffin, but Silva is an all-around, absolute, complete fighter.

If you're a Forrest fan, dont bother DLing this fight. Silva made him look like he didnt belong in the UFC.

Forrest suffered a dislocated jaw early in the match but I don't think it would have mattered. Silva just looked unbeatable last night. Forrest would have given him a good fight but Silva would've prevailed.

Anderson broke Forrest's jaw. It wasnt like he did it on a walnut before the fight. There's no reason to think Anderson wouldnt break some part of Forrest's face every single time they would ever fight each other. There's no reason to believe Forrest could do any better than he did.

now reports from Griffins camp are saying that he was not injured in this fight and that his swift exit from the ring was just Forrest " not taking the loss very well. " /shrug.
