Ok. Not sure who the "we" is. The big difference is that you're comparing two hip hop artists (KRS and DF). That's why I agreed at the TI/Lil J bit. TI/Lil Jon is a perfect comparison to the any rapper/SouljaBoy "argument."Quote:

The thread I made yesterday about Soulja Boy being assaulted in McDonough at his house. Complete with videos (one being by the guys who did it). Later, QD.Quote:

Listen, no one is dooping his Business side.. I think the kid is smart and took advantage of our sad "YOUTH" who think he is cool.
I mean, kid has been on Youtube for awhile.. I think he's moslty a net celebrity and a ringtone artist..
Anyways.. he's smart with business.. but he's music sucks.. I mean, the younger crowd like's it.. who cares..
Yeah, if you plan on cruising for middle school age or early high school age children, you've got them in your pocket with this dude, lolol. But for the ladies, you better bust out Temptations or Teddy. Later, QD.Quote:

JITB...like i've said before (and you know that i have a pretty good idea when it comes to music)...the music game has changed. it's not even about the art anymore. i think the issue that people are having with your statements are that the game isn't what it used to be. i posted that xzibit song for a reason...because that's what the game has become... [dudes in the rap game, only for the money and the fame]. it's almost like content doesn't matter anymore.
i mentioned earlier...lil wayne. one of his hottest singles was that "a milli" track. did you know, he didn't even know the hook was saying "a milli." he thought it was saying "i'm illi" and wrote his verses accordingly (....muthafukka i'm ILL....). dude said it on the radio. for pure hip hop heads (which is how i view myself, QD, and others), the mainstream music lacks content, you know?
julio was on point by mentioning NAS is a GOAT. he's one of few artist out there that i can think of who actually have "content" in their singles. yes, SB is making money, making tracks that the kids can jam to, etc....but he'll NEVER reach the level of NAS. he lacks TRUE SKILL...only a phase...a "5 hit" wonder. he's making hella bread from radio spins, ringtones, youtube hits, etc....but dude doesn't sell albums. nas was right...the game has taken a turn for worse...make a "jumping" track, and you get a deal.
SB needs to "earn" that advance money...so he's taking shots at the TRUE artists to keep himself signed...that's the bottom line.
Neo-Soul is where its at.......along with SOME R&B, and New Age Jazz.
Rap to me is now underground only. I can listen to the raido, but its mainly for the beats and hooks. They are jumping, but the lyrical content is horrible. I am seriously considering writing music again, SIMPLY because the content is non-existent.
I can get in my car and jam to Anthony Hamilton, Life Jennings, J. Sullivan, John Legend, etc......
Rap/Hip Hop is not what it used to be. Evolution is one thing, but to shame the game they way money hungry people are is running it down the toilet.
As far as Soulja Boy is concerned, along with entertainers of the like, I commend them on making SERIOUS $. Thye are entertainers, they are mastering the art of entertaining. No hate at all, but they are not hip hop, they are not rap. Maybe if KRS-One, Ice-T, Cube, Dre, Em, etc sat down with some of these noobs and dropped some knowledge on them they COULD become hip-hop artists. I doubt it though, because you can't just become one
The part in bold is your admittance to arguing about opinions. Throughtout this whole thread everyone has been saying "fuck him, he sucks." "He sucks" is just an opinion that is given. You follow through your "you're haters" and "he's catering to the younger people" routines and trying to debunk their claim that he sucks. It's the same thing (in a sense).Quote:

soulja boy is whackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
who makes a song about DONKS???
people like him, bow wow, chris brown, 50 cent who should be a dollar by now.. make hiphop sorry, its the reason why i dont wanna listen to the radio because its overplayed, overrated, and sorry ass lyric about money, girls, car or guns, when their focus should be literally about life, work, struggles.
(sorry for using the phrase but im part black somewhere in my life)its the reason why us nigg.as, who work our ass off, and head out to the club, and we chillin, buying drinks, smokin some stanky ass bud, and girls just holdin our dick as if they already want to take us back to the crib, and these nigg.as, okay... celebrity ass nigg.as staring so hard at us, because they aint like us, we work our fuc.kin ass off and chillin because we got everything we need in our life, we aint gotta be famous, fame dont get you nothing photographers and contract signers. these nigg.as askin if they can hit the blunt or sit at the same table, the same nigg.as whos ballin out the ass, famous as shi.t............ asking to sit down at the same table with us? to smoke our blunt? to drink with us? its the principle of jealousy... ask these nigg.as who the fu.ck is you? and just realize that they killed hiphop and rap with all that bullsh.it hosted on the radio, because they were worried about being famous and not focusing on talkin about reality and struggles. you werent famous before and now you are, and you went from being one of us nigg.as to being a ni.gga who just dont got nothing to say but bullsh.it.
thats all i gotta say.. and if you feel and understand what im saying.. tell me im wrong or its true as spoken

Im not gonna sit here and argue with someone who says he sucks.. if they think he sucks than so be it.. i could care less.

50 actually raps.. Im not a big fan of Fifty.. But I will listen to him over SB anyday of the week.
Bow wow was cool back in 1994 when he was jumping on the couch at the Beggining of the GIN N JUCIE video.. he was like 4.. hahahahahaha

chris brown is talented he doesn't bring down the game.
bow wow has been in the game for a long time. he is about to put out his 7th album he has his own fan base. that is success even if you dont like the music he continually delivers hit songs and sells record and venues. unlike soulja boy who was a one album then flop. regardless of who you are or bow wow lyrically delivers a different approach then most people. his delivery is different a young audience likes the catchy appeal that he brings and thats what he will continue to do i dont think he cares about what ia people think if he sales, he sales
50cent also has been a trend setter. i remeber going to a rock the mic concert and seeing him perform. i didn't like him much but the guy delivered a great concert. he brings energy on stage.
soulja boy is just a fade and trend he had some catchy songs but now they all sound the same so he isn't gaining anything. his delivery is subpar and everything is always the same. the only thing setting him apart from others is his club type beats. other than that he sucks still
soulja boy is comparable to vanilla ice. made one song that almost everyone knows the song too but now no one really talks about him unless he stirs trouble.
,
rap is now a money making industry. its still rare to find lyricist in such a big industry. every generation is the same. you have your crap rap and you have your lyricist.... some people can battle rap some people can write rhymes, and some people can produce beats. rarely you see the combination of all three
