    Default Card reader to PS3...

I have no idea why I can't view pics or video or anything from my PS3 when I put the card reader in the slot. The PS3 recognizes it as you can see it in the lists under VIDEOS or MUSIC, but it says there si nothing on the card when i know there is.

    Any ideas? Thanks. Later, QD.

I don't know never got a problem like what, what you can do tho is get a flash drive and put the pictures on there and then plug the flash drive into your PS3. It should work because thats how I got my stuff on my PS3.

I know that didn't answer your original question but it might help ya.

you may have to format the card to the Ps3. With the psp the only way you could look at pics and videos you had saved to your card was formatting it to the psp. I don't own a Ps3 but i think thats what may be wrong. Delete everything on the card then stick it in the usb drive then back into the Ps3 and see if there is an option to Format it.
Life is a thought, think about it.

It is kinda, but it would be a whole lot easier with just a flash drive.

I'd try to format it like said, but that would mean losing everything thats on it so I dunno.

If you happen to have a flash drive laying around, I'd put the files I want on the PS3 on the flash drive then plug the flash drive up to the PS3.

I have had this problem myself. This has always worked for me. Go to music or videos and what you want to view and click triangle on the card then click view all. Hope it works.

QD I had the same problem when I first got mine as well.

What you have to do is under whatever category you want say for instance Music, is go to that section select the card reader and hit triangle. At that point it will open a menu. Hit view all and everything should appear. If you have any other problems just PM me.

That's odd, since it should show up when you go to show all under the XMB menu pop up when you hit triangle. . (which PS3 did you get 20,40,60, or 80?)

Hmm weird. The only thing I can tell you then is to hit the PS3 boards. Good luck. The only other thing that I can think of is maybe the formats wrong but I doubt that video does have to be converted in most cases to go on the PS3. If I should think of anything I'll let you know

I'm registering on PS3 forums now so I can find out what's going on. I mean the PS3 recognizes the card reader being in there. It just keeps saying there's nothing on it. Later, QD.

QD, This is a step by step on what to do.
    In Windows:
First Format the memory stick to FAT 32.
Right Make new Folder , NAME THE FOLDER PS3.
Then Double click on the PS3 folder,
Make your Sub folder as MUSIC and VIDEO and such.
Place your mp3 or music formats in the MUSIC folder
Then Your Video formats in the VIDEO folder.

    You get the idea.

Then when your finish with your puting your files in folders.

Take out the usbreader with memstick from the computer and put it in one of the usb slots of the PS3 system.
Boot up and your formats will be in the corrsponding category.

Actually, that worked perfectly for pictures. Or rather one pic that I tried. The one video I put on the card wasn't recognized by the PS3. The video was in .WMA format. Maybe that was why?

Stephaine, I'm simply trying to move stuff around from computer to PS3 with the above. But I think I've got it now. Later, QD.

im no genius. you can try formatting the card when the card reader is attached to the ps3. then transfer files on the card with your PC. sometimes the device reconizes the card when it is formatted by it.

Videos need to be in MP4 format for the PS3 if I recall correctly.

You can download http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER for free to convert your vids.
