My thoughts.
The STi vs Evo X bit was interesting. I really like the group B days segment when fans lined the track like that for real. And im not surprised the STI is faster than the Evo X. Best motoring had a good comparo around the track between an 07 Sti, an 08 Sti, a Evo IX, a Evo X 5sp, and an EVO X paddle shift.
Final results.
1. New STi
2. Old Sti
3. Evo IX
4. Evo X 5sp
5. Evo PS
Top Gear stunt man......i can see how this might have potential. Remember when the stig was first introduced, everyone didn't get it and now he is an integral part of the show.
Audi RS6.......The best estate in the world and makes me mad we don't get it. It also seems that when you have this type of race the car always loses.
Blk CLK.....good car and the scene had great cinematography.
Damn, I hope that's on here tonight when I get home tonight!
Bozzio for president.
sure did make the sti look like a punk..lol
The Rs6 is really insane..
is that motor in any other audi?
But numbers dont lie and the Sti was 0.2 tenths faster than the Evo x. Remember that the car the stig drove was the 300hp and not the tuned one Jeremy was.Originally Posted by JITB
The 5.0 V10?
Wiki says
It is powered a modified V10 petrol engine from the current S6 and S8. The engine is an all-aluminium alloy 4991 cc 90° V10 twin-turbocharged Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI), with a dry-sump lubrication system, and a unique firing order. It has four valves per cylinder, with twin chain-driven double overhead camshafts, and variable valve timing for both inlet and exhaust camshafts. Charged intake air is cooled with two side-mounted intercoolers (SMIC)s. The engine produces 580 PS (427 kW/572 bhp) at 6,250 to 6,700 rpm, and 650 N·m (479 ft·lbf) torque from 1,500 to 6,250 rpm. Engine management is by way of Bosch Motronic ME 9.1.2 engine control unit, incorporating two integrated control units which act as "master" and "slave" concepts. It also uses mapped direct ignition with ten individual coils, an electronic drive by wire throttle, cylinder-selective knock control, and cylinder bank adaptive lambda control, utilising eight lambda sensors.
The RS6 overtakes the position (in power output) from the BMW M5, making about 70 bhp (52 kW) and 150 Nm more than BMW's naturally-aspirated V10 engine.
yea i heard him say "FQ" when he was testing, and im like thats not fair to be comparing the fq 360 to the sti..Originally Posted by EJ25RUN
I worte that poorly. What i meant to write was that the blue evo that was driven around in the review by Jeremy was the FQ. But the Evo x that the Stig drove in the power lap was a standard 300hp Evo.Originally Posted by JITB

1:28.2 - Sti
vs
1:28.22 - Evo X 300hp
That really is 1 shift that was faster in the Sti
where did you find that?Originally Posted by LS2_KID
