Dont get a Macbook Air. If you are buying a Mac to replace a desktop machine then consider a MacBook Pro. However, if you are just need a good all around laptop, the price difference between the best MacBook and the bottom Pro isnt really worth if all you are using it for is browsing the web and general usage.

I would definitely just get a Macbook then. I've had mine for a bout a year now and I have never once regretted it. The Macbook Air is a total waste, underpowered, no cd drive, a lot more expensive. I can't think of any situation where a Macbook would not be portable enough. Yes, the Macbook Air is smaller but do you honestly need to save that small amount of space?

    Just go with a Macbook.

Well depending on what plane im flying. If i'm in a lil 2 seater then yeah space is really limited. But i switch alot between a 2 and a 4 seater where space isnt that limited. I mean the 15 inch macbook pro isnt that much bigger and ive been looking on the specs on it and it seems like a better buy. I'll keep researching. I appreaciate the help guys. imbosile +repped

Yaeh, the 15inch base model Macbook Pro isnt really worth it. The 17inch matte Macbook Pro is pure and utter sexyness, despite its high price point. I have a higher end 13 inch Macbook and love it. I love the size, the speed and the actual practicality of the machine. Ive had plenty of Windows based laptops and I love the Macbook. I can get almost 4 hours of battery life on one charge. The heat isnt bad, and its uber quiet. I also have a Quad Core desktop machine for graphic work, but honestly I use my Macbook more.

Damn thats a nice set up. I was looking at the high end 15 inch macbook pro, but im looking at the 13inch macbook. For the price and what its gunna be used for it seems more practical than blowing 2500 on one thats only gunna be used when im flying or messing arround while im on the couch.

macbook FTW. i have an ibook G4 and i use the dog piss out of it (5-6 hours/day) and it still runs just as fast as it did the day i got it in '05.

yeah the airbook has no disk drive which is for the ghey... but i dont really use cd's very often so i could manage. i dont know how they are as far as performance but osnap says they are slow sooo... doesnt really seem worth the high price tag.

yes they are cool as ballz and yes it is an apple so it's gotta be good, but... i cant see myself owning an airbook...

i'll have a macbook pro if i ever get another computer.

for what its worth, i love my "higher end" macbook, too.

2.0GHz Core 2 Duo, 3GB RAM. Definitely does the job for me.
