firewall question
Anybody know how I can figure out which firewall is keeping my limewire from connecting to the network? I already checked the windows security center and limewire is in the "exceptions" list so that must mean that I have another firewall in place? any way to figure out what it is or where it is?
+reps for help that actually helps

did you set up right? like they asked if you were going to use limewire for downloading limewire illegaly? you should click no on that part.

Can you see the 5 green bars in the bottom left corner?
Do you have an anti-virus suite installed? McAfee/Norton have their own firewall/IDSs.
Within LimeWire, go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewall Config, and make a note of the listening port located in the box next to "Listen on Port". Head back to Windows firewall settings, click on 'add port' and add the relevant Limewire listening UDP port to the list

Hmm.. did you change your router recently? Log-on to your router, navigate to the port forward section and add the Limewire UDP port. For help with port forwarding, click on the appropriate router over here (http://portforward.com/english/route...outerindex.htm) and follow the instructions.
