What? You don't like knowing that the US government was setup by members of a secret society, of which EVERY president has been a member?

My dad was training for it, he said that he could not tell me anything about it. If I wanted to know about it I would have to ask a member.

How hard is it to train to be in a secret society?

Do you just have to learn to keep a secret?

My Granddaddy was actually a member of it, but of course it never occured to us til afterwards, but he had the ring with the insignia and a freemason "plaque" on the wall. If you watch that show, make sure you watch it til the end, they bust alot of the myths about it. It's a secret society, but it's not evil like they were portraying in the first part of it lol.

Every Male in my family is or will be a freemason. in the next year i will be studying to be one also...

its not all that cool. a bunch of old people get together and talk about stuff. some times talk about how they can help other organizations. like i think last year the CPD was having some fund raiser, and the freemason's made the largest donation.

but when i say a bunch of of old guys. my great uncle is 74 and in the same one as my 67 year old grandfather.... OLD!!

    I'll be 22 in april.

its not really something everyone can just sign up to be. there are certain terms and conditions on which the members must obide(sp?) by or be punished by death.

the US was actually set up by a bunch of freemasons. the history goes that, most of the people that signed the Declaration of the Independence was made up of Freemasons. Benjamin Franklin, was a freemason. also, back in the, i think, 1800's, there was a guy who was sent on trial for something, i can't remember what it was, but either during the trail or right afterwards, he just vanished. 6 people were suspected and tried by none of them were found guilty. the guy who came up missing and the 6 suspects were all freemasons.

most people call it a secret society but they refer to it as a society with secrets. you usually never hear anything about it, but its starting to approach the surface and people are startin to know about it. they have their own handshake, secret codes, and other things. its how other freemasons know one another.

they say that it has to do with the devil , but it doesn't really. its not like a religious cult or anything. its more of a group of people who sit and talk about everything. BUT they have their own society about it. weird.

i wonder what would happen if you showed up to one of the meetings without being a freemason. would they let you join if you wanted to? or would they throw your ass out on the curb and tell ya to suck a fat one?

If you showed up they just wouldnt let you in the building. My dad is a freemason, my grandfather was and so was my great-grandfather. I actually talked to my dad the other night about joining. Also, if you ever want to become a Shriner you'll have to go through the freemasons first.
As far as joining, I know you'll have to petition them and they'll get a "commitee" to basically do a complete background check on you and then they MIGHT vote you in.
