Hooray gimmicks!!!

****ing suckers, I love watching these retards staring at their phones trying to type ****. Anything with a touchscreen is a gimmick, plain and simple. You can argue all day but at the end guess what, my cheap phone does everything the iphone and kaiser do: calls, music, videos, email, internet, etc...

Keep buying "productivity enhancing" phones if you really notice your penis growing. These things are worse than the bluetooth headsets that people wear around. The only thing worse than a hot-shot, know-it-all corporate millionaire is a hot-shot, know-it-all desk jockey who wants to feel big and important.

Damn, I think I'm gonna buy a tilt. Just been reading up on it after this thread. Badass little piece of tech.

And only $299 with rebates and **** on AT&T's site...Beats the hell out of the iphone I was considering...

I did just want the "Real" internet(streaming videos, pics, pron, etc), and a little modability...

I guess I'll be getting a whole lot more :goodjob:

Meh...AT&T's not so bad. People make them out to be so evil and what not, and they aren't. It actually comes up to about $334 after tax and stuff. I sent in my rebate about 1-1/2 to 2 weeks ago, still waiting on it but I think it may have come already, just not to my dorm.

Sorry, some of us actually need to receive our emails immediately and have other built in features such as a GPS whenever we're doing routes or business trips, let alone creating, editing, and emailing documents on the spot without having to haul around a computer/laptop.

Your arguement is as dumb as someone asking US (by us I mean the people on this forum), "why do you all spend money on our cars if any car can take you from point A to point B." We do it because we like it.

Why buy clothes? Why pay for cable service, when you can pick up local service? Why buy a DOUBLE cheeseburger when a regular cheeseburger has the samething, just one less patty? Why buy a piece of junk RX-7 when you could of just bought another piece of junk?

Yea, your right. I absolutely HATE getting a cell phone signal EVERYWHERE I go. It's like it's following me :dunno:

I'm in the Warner Robins/Macon area. It's not like Atlanta, where AT&T is based...

Atleast according to AT&T's Coverage map on their website. There's a big hole next to macon, warner robins looks good, but south GA is spotty.

This is for the net services. I haven't had net with Verizon, so I don't know how they are, either.

Modding didn't look too bad, from the sites you posted and a couple others through those. I don't see how it would be hard, but this is coming from a dude without the phone...

My iPhone has service thru T-Mobile, so I havent had a problem with service anywhere. I had a problem with T-Mobile once in 3 years so far, but I called them up, pretended I wanted to cancel my service and BAM! No more issues ever

You mean as far as 3G service goes. 3G is currently only available in major cities. They're expanding 3G right now on major highways and such, but as of now, it's only available in the metropolitan areas.

Modding the PPC isn't hard, once you get the hang of it. But at first, it gets confusing with the different .cab files that have to be installed from the directly from the phone, or the ones with the windows installer, that are installed through the computer.

Playing with WA and WAD is a whole other level though. That sh!t takes forever to get the hang of, and even after you get that down, it still takes a long time to actually make it do what you want.

Yeah man, I totally understand. I had my phone for 2 months just playing with it before I decided to mod it. The thing is, you really have to set aside an hour to go thru the entire process. The steps dont take long to complete, but you have to read the directions pretty closely the 1st time thru. I messed around and was trying to jailbreak my phone and watch a movie at the same time. Bad move.

Follow this link, this guy TinMan gives a pretty clear guide. Remember, no TV, no IA, no nothing. It'll be worth it once its done

jailbreak is a software modification. it can be deleted from your phone, almost as easily as deleting an MMS or phone number.

wait, did I say MMS? I meant SMS, see...I have MMS because I've jailbroken mine :D

Did I mention AIM? Yeah cuz, I have AIM too. Did I mention GPS? No I mustve forgotten GPS, too busy talking about the video recorder. Oh yeah, and Java plus Flash. So I can actually see embedded video, whether its on YouTube or not. Oh yeah, and sattelite(sp) radio...got that too.

I know what it is, just not going to do it yet and risk being denied a return if I have to exchange mine for another one. I haven't owned it a full 2 days.
