    Twentieth Century Fox is finally moving forward with a live-action adaptation of the hugely popular manga "Dragonball," casting the stars of the movie and setting a release date of next summer.

    Justin Chatwin is starring as the hero while James Marsters will play the villain in the sci-fi adventure, which will be directed by James Wong. The movie has been penciled in for a worldwide release date of Aug. 15, 2008. Stephen Chow, the filmmaker behind "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Shaolin Soccer," is producing.

    Production begins later this year. Other major roles are currently being cast.

    wasn't piccolo the green guy... and wasn't he a good guy in one of the saga's? he helped train gohan.....

    yeah but in the first DRAGONBALL he was actually a villian if i remember correctly.

    and at the begenning of DragonBallZ he was a villian, they teamed up to kill raditz "goku's brother" in the first season of DragonBallZ. afterwards they became allies.

    They're gonna put him on that program that everyone was on in 300

    heh never saw the series was too slow. but had all the original 52 manga from japan. in fact i believe i was one of the first to get the 52nd manga. have a friend who works up at jump who hooked us up. was fun. but that was like 1991

    but yeah that actor can pull it off. if he buffs up. if you cut his facial hair he does have the facial structure for it.

    Yea, until it got the destuction of Namek and the death of Freeza it started all over from the begining which has me pissed I had to go and by the VHS, back then.

    I was an avid collector of the video; I have the Android Sagas all the way to the Buu sagas on VHS I have all the GT sagas on DVD *thank god*, but what really pissed me off was when they had the nerve to drop the Lost episodes and I was like are you fawk'n serious so I only bought 2 of those to see that it only had up to about 4 mins of missing footage from the regular episodes and didn't purchase anymore. DBZ will always be my first love, but I had to move on to something I felt was better i.e Bleach FTMFW and Naruto Shippuuden (regular Naruto sucks until you get to this one imo)

    Every time it was supposed to be a new episode they would show the preview but the next week or somethin it would start all over they would rerun the season twice sometimes

    I heard it will just be based on the saiyajin saga with vegeta, raditz, and nappa. I figure if its successful there will be sequel, freiza saga, cell, and buu, etc.

    same here man...I just did a DB, Z, and GT re run, and it's so awesome. I wish the DB AF was true

    I remeber dowloading anything I could find in 1997. The quality was so bad on the Jap ver on realplayer which was the only thing I could find plus 56k was so slow. On a new note the new eps of Naruto Shippuden should be out 2night eps 34. Only other anime I have ever watched but DBZ. It started in 02 it's come along way to make it on cartoon network w/ there gay voices.

    ^ Naruto is nice. But the animation is wayyyy behind the manga.

    you should watch Bleach as well as others. I'm a total anime addict.

    Good to see someone who also likes the Naruto Shippuden, I can't to catch that and the new episode of Bleach. Bleach is raw , like any other anime you can't simply start where everyone else is and expect to understand whats going on, but I would recommend Bleach to anyone who had the patience to watch DBZ could in fact watch this and love it.
