XBox 360 vs. PS3

Help me. Alright so I debating which system to purchase, a 360 or a PS3. I have ALWAYS been a Playstation fan, yet have never played the PS3. My initial instinct is to buy the PS3 no questions asked. I would even feel comfortable buying one without having played one. However recently people have been steering my toward the 360, which I have played and enjoyed. I know very little, technically, about either. One thing I know and like is that the PS3 has built in Wi-Fi which is a huge plus to me...does the 360 have this as well? If you care to enlighten me on the positives, negatives, attributes of each and your own personal suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Also which has better games, etc? If there is even a difference. Any info you can offer is welcomed.

If you like and want to play Halo and like Live, and can take the chance of it crapping out, get the 360. if you want resistance and gran turismo and can take not having force feedback, get the ps3.

THe 360's WiFi is not built it. It costs $99. I have an 360, but I finally got the "red ring of death" last weekend.

I say PS3. I have a 360 but after 6 months the system just keeps restarting over and over again. So I will be buying a PS3 soon.

360 elite ftw....not only did microsoft extend their warranty on ALL 360s to a yr (it's retroactive as well, so good on any 360 purchased within the last yr), but it also has way more games right now, and the wireless adapter isn't $99, cuz there are many substitutes available (mine cost $30 and works perfectly).

The PS3 is a Blu Ray player (the future in hd movies)and has bulit in Wi fi, memory card slots, 60 gig hard drive and free online. The 360 is cheaper and has more games and comes in 20 gig no hdmi or 120 gig with hdmi. I own both the ps3 and 360 and find myself playing the PS3 more.

No HD type player.. you could say add 200 but u can find them for 120 so 630 vs 600.

but ok yeah the 360 has a 120gig then vs a 60.

As for games the 360 does have more games. but in good games i'd say their about even. In the end again it just comes down to what you wanna play

360 Elite $480 + wireless adapter $90 + hd dvd player $200 + xbox live $50 = $820

PS3 $600 includes wireless, bluray, and the playstation network is free. Blu ray will win out the high def DVD format war.

I know but in order to try and make it seem a unbiased opinion i was using prices ive seen vs full retail.

Like a local sams has the hd player for 120..
and if u dont wanna buy the Microsoft wireless network adapter u can get one for around 30.. its still more expensive hehe so the ps3 is still better. and when some properly developed games coem out its gonna be alot better

good point I can care less if you has blueray, HD Dvd, or wireless. Fuck all that shit. Just give me a system, with better than PS2 graphics and my EA sports line up and I'm fine. I'm not worried about the not need "accessories"

As we've already proven the 360 isnt cheaper. Sure it has Forza and Halo, but 2 games alone shouldnt convince you to get one over the other. Not to mention once GT5 comes out, Forza will be forgotten about. Both consoles offer wireless game play, so thats a moot point. And blu ray isn't lame, its the future of high def DVDs, so you better get used to it. All the major movie studios are backing blu ray except for 1, and that one will probably switch to supporting both blu ray and hd dvd in the future. Blu ray has a bigger capacity then hd dvd and a brighter future.

Once MGS comes out later this year, as well as GTA4 and some other games, PS3 will really start to pick up steam.

While this online role-playing game may have been a hit for the PC and PlayStation 2, it feels very awkward and entirely out of place on the Xbox 360. Haha, it wasn't a brand new FF game anyway, just a port of an old ps2 game. Nothing special there anyway. All the big FF games will be on PS3.

Kojima (man behind MGS) already stated that MGS is ps3 exclusive. It was designed from the ground up for the ps3.

RE5 was confirmed last E3 that it would be on 460,its just lately theirs been alot of talk bout MGS coming to 360..but ill buy a PS3 just for Socom:C when it comes out

omg Genesis was my first system that I personally owned. And dreamcast was sooooo good. I know I wish they would make another console, but I guess its just easier not to compete with anybody and just sell your games to everyone
