    Default Mac users.....unite.....

So I've had my macbook for a while now and now that I've gotten ahang of all the awesomeness that a mac holds....I would like to get some more programs/tools to use.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting photoshop CS (I have photoshop on my pc) but can't seem to find a good download for it on limewire.

I have heard of Gimp open-ware type photo editing software.

Anyway I am looking to use it to make website graphics with and stuff like that.

Anyone know of something I can use? Or have any other programs/downloads that are must have for macs?

adium works better than aim on my ibook. also flip4mac lets you watch .wmv files.
i'd say photoshop and the macromedia suite would be good for you.

A great video conversion software is VisualHub and Handbrake is great for ripping certain chapters and menus off DVD's

my favorite apps excluding iLife shit:

Adium - hands down the best OS X IM client out there
Transmission - awesome lightweight bittorrent client
PS CS3 - cracks are pretty widely available but you might try using Macromedia Fireworks first
VLC - plays EVERY FORMAT EVER. or at least close. youll need this eventually.
Flip4Mac - enables WMA playback through QT. useful for wmv embeds.
    Handbrake - easy dvd ripping
Audacity - simple audio editor - great for making ringtones
Get Tube - Youtube download client
    GMail notifier - pretty self-explanetory
iSquint - simple video converter to make videos iPod-compatible
Senuti - transfer files from others' iPods into your library, or upload your library from an old machine
Task List - good organizer for college students
    Aurora
    - Free, easy to use alarm clock app

im not usually one to ask for reps... but um... yeah.

IMO, If your first mac ever is a macbook pro, it does not make you a true mac user. It makes you a mac n00b.

Well the macbook is my first mac that I have owned. It's not a pro---if that makes me not a noob. I've had my macbook for about a year now and i am stuck on mac's now. My next desk top will be a mac too.

Have you ever used Mac the Ripper for DVD ripping? This is what I use & I was wondering if Handbrake is better

I tried the PS download off of Lime Wire. It was good for a month or two but then it started taking like 5 minutes to load.

BTW: I have a macbook too.

Yeah I know limewire is not a great place to download programs, but it was easy. Thanks for the link though, I need to get my photoshop back.

Also has anyone had any problems with their chargers? My charger just broke right near the magnet so I can't splice the wires and reconnect them. I am good at soldering but I dont think I have a chance with this. Normally I would just buy another charger but...The wires themselves seem to be in tact but the rubber insulating the wire itself is gone, it looks almost burnt. My friends brother had the exact problem, and the charger broke at the same spot. I am thinking I could make an argument that it is defective, but I am not sure.

Answers to the question or links or info on where I can get another charger will earn reps. Thanks.

    Thanks...reps to you.

Also one of the reviews confirmed my suspisions. They say the charger caught fire near the magnet. Mine def. looks burnt, and it gets extremely hot right there. Mac store here I come to bitch at you.
