Yea, but it is different, there is alot of guitar in it, but it's alot of Country/Blues/Rock. You'll like it or you won't, I have the cd on Itunes, I'd send it if I knew how.
No one has mentioned Peter Green. Not a single Allmon brother either. And no Willie Nelson? That guy can put more "emotion" into a solo than anybody.
There was a reason these people weren't mentioned. The topic was greatest player. Not good or very good. The people you named were wonderful strummers, but not influential or great. Later, QD.Quote:

Also theslide guitar over the piano coda at the end is textbook Duane Allman
I found the ballot to to be confusing and misleading, causing me to accidentally vote for an independent party.
Clapton is the BEST!!! Randy Rhodes from black sabbath in not far behind him!!

Lifeson doesn't belong in this poll. And Chet Atkins does (and lots of others). Technical ability is not everything - you also have to have passion, and be able to connect w/ the instrument... and just plain ROCK. Satriani has amazing touch and is retarded technical - but he can't swing - he sounds "Berkley" and sounds programmed - predicatable - he doesn't have the "stuff" that you can't teach like say Jimi or SRV. AWESOME thread idea though. Clapton in all his greatness is MUCH underrated even today. And a young gun to watch out for is Berkley dropout John Mayer.
This black guy on this link though is DEFINITELY sexy and HAWT though - holy sh*t I wanna f*ck him! --> http://youtube.com/user/musicmaestro88
Randy is king
Where's the "You totally missed Tom Morrello" option?
How can you forget Robert Johson? Every single guitarist on there would cut their left nut off just to shake his hand.
They are all talented guitarists. I'm a big Stevie Ray Vaughan fan so I'd go with him.
But I've also heard that Brad Paisley is a killer guitarist who I think is pretty good on Banjo. Not sure about the Banjo. And I've heard the same about John Mayer.
In general your truly best guitarists are the studio guitarists that you never hear of. And I love Flemenca guitarists too.

satriani and vai are good, but shredding is FTL.
all the guitarists who are/were in real bands like lifeson, page, slash, van halen, and others like them are by far the best IMO.
Isn't this a biased thread, most of the above listed have different playing styles, or techniques, or played in different genre's
Its comparing apples and oranges.
i hoep that first Jimi is Jimi hendrix.
carlos santana, eric clapton, and peter frampton are good too
umm.... who else could it be :screwy:Quote:

who didnt vote for their fav. guitarist? NOBODY. you cant determine who is the "best" because that is completely opinion-based and subjective.Quote:

the solo is VERY overrated. notes per minute only proves how much free time you have and how badly you need a girlfriend. if you cant connect with the instrument and the audience you are worthless as a guitarist.
Jesus Christ nothing but a bunch of opinionated babies up in here.
my opinion
peter frampton or miles and kyle of slightly stoopid
as far as creativity and making whatever sound they want
technicality van halen
and i have heard that james hettfield writes some of kirk hammets solos
slash gets my vote
