The temp switch is on the back of a D-series, behind the Diz, to the left bottom side of the intake, where the radiator hose goes into the head. There is a plug that attaches to the fitting the hose slides on. Make sure that is connected well. If it is bad, you won't know. Also, inside your fusebox under the hood, there is a solenoid that can go bad too... you can test for the solenoid by bypassing it with a piece of wire stuck in its place. If the solenoid is bad, the fan will come on. If the temp sensor is bad, it wont. Idk if you can test temp sensor by using a wire to complete the circuit in the temp switch plug... but that might work to single out the temp sensor too.
