I'll post updates as they happen. The car is currently on hold due to a few small projects but should pick back up early in the week. I need to completely remove the fuel and braking systems from the chassis, remove the sound deadening tar inside and start work in the bay. I am thinking of doing a full brake line tuck and getting the booster delete plate but I'm still thinking about that.

P.S: I am looking for many different oem replacement items for this car. Headlights, taillights, dash, door panels and other misc. I could not salvage but half of the inside and if anyone has anything p/m me thanks. I also have a good working NON cracked climate control w/all cables intact only missing the dial if anyone is interested.

Small update as of today. I started removing the sound deadening material, removed the back half of the chassis harness, started removing the entire fuel system and hope to have it down to shell tomorrow or Sunday. I have yet to start on the bay but maybe mid to late next week it will be just about done.

Update 3/20/2010.. Manage to salvage the moldings that clip to the door between the front and the rear glass. I also was able to save the taillights as well. I pal did some buffing magic and made them look almost like new.

    Before:

We stripped the paint off the garnish, wet sanded the garnish and then took it to his new buffer:

He then mounted the garnish and hit it w/ some mothers plastic polish - After:

    Next he will buff these:

I also thought about shaving the antenna but honestly I like the little item poking up but have no use for the antenna system itself. So I got some glaze and filled in the hole. I will have an after photo once sanded and covered w/trim paint.

Tomorrow is my birthday so I highly doubt I will be working on it any. I will take time to stop in and get some daylight shots of the taillights now that they are finished.

1a.m. and the block off is complete. I am satisfied with this mod it took little to no time and looks great.

(ignore the lint I wiped it down w/paper towels.)

Squeezed in some time for pics of everything mounted.

Here is the antenna delete mounted.

Started refurbishing all the plastic moldings.

The garnish stands out over the taillights since we buffed it out. We will be buffing the lights soon they look so dingy now.

All week it has been nearly 70 degrees then Atl about 3 hours away get's snow?.. I'm so confused.

I did however manage to source these for the car. So needless to say I am ordering them.

    3/23/2010 update.

Started some prep work.. finished all other bodywork, stripped the garnish that mounts under the headlights and ended up with a surprise.

Oh no.......... BONDO!!!! so I fixed that.

    I like.

Already off to an amazing start.

I really need to find someone who can help me out with bodywork.

All I ever seem to focus on is motor, susp, and brakes...

I managed to refurbish some more panels throughout the chassis. The panel that covers the wiper assembly upfront and the panels on the underside of the spoiler. I'll get pics installed later until then enjoy.

Update 3/24/2010. Not much going on today just finished all my panels here are a few.

    3/24/2010 continued..

Figured I would bring my lights home wet sand them some before we buff making sure we get to fresh red/amber plastic. Then I'll touch up the black housing w/more black making them look close to new.

    Update 3/25/2010.

My dash is worth salvaging after all. I just need both side vents and to prep and dye it black.

The hood and spoiler have both been prepped and primed. I also installed my new spoiler panels. Talk about motivation..

    3/27/2010..

I finally got around to removing all the hard lines for the brakes.

That means no more lines in my bay also dropped my pedal assembly, brake booster and master cylinder so the bay is ready for sandblasting/sanding.

I noticed my hinges were in terrible shape so I took them to the blasting cabinet. From this.

    To this.

    Started metal glazing the bay.

My welder was busy so he did not have time to weld up the last couple holes. Maybe in the next couple days it will be finished.
