Default help with my air temp control

The car I recently picked up has a problem with the air temp selector. It won't move more than a tiny bit and is kind of warmish temp wise. Winter is coming and I want it to be adjustable. any ideas?

    Thanks!

Check your heater control valve. It's installed in-line in the heater hose just outside the firewall. First unclip and remove the cable from the valve and see if you can rotate the valve by hand. If the valve is ok, it's likely a sticky cable.

    Exactly what he said.
If the valve rotates fine by hand (remember it only turns 90 degrees) leave the cable disconnected and turn the knob. That will tell you if its the cable for sure. Theres nothing else it could be unless the knob itself is stuck and I highly doubt that.

or. ur cable may be pinching behind the heater core or something. I put my heater core in and forgot to run that cable the SPECIFIC way and now its binding. I just popped my hood and opened the valve. Ill fix it when i get a new dash
