**disclaimer** I do NOT support true street racing, nor do I promote it in any manner. ESPECIALLY in Cali. What I did was risky, I know. Most enthusiasts enjoy the occasional fuck-around with another enthusiast, and this was no true battle-to-the-death or living my life 1/4mile at a time. We didn't break 80mph in a 55 in a wide 6lane, no-traffic area in the middle of the night. Yes...burger king is open 24hours out here...
Shit, boys...here we go, again. I said when I bought the car I was just gonna leave it stock, leave it alone, love it as it is, and I'd be happy with her...
Well, the other night I got into it on two pulls with a brand-fuckin-new BMW M6. One from a 40mph roll, and another from a dig. From the 40, with him getting the pedal down before I could throw my phone to the floor from text messaging, he pulled, but I stayed at his taillight. We got to the next light, and we both stalled for a second and launched. My car started pulling ahead of his around 50-60mph (probably woulda been sooner but the car remained sideways through second gear with TCS off) but I had to dog the brakes and cut right to make it to my final destination...burger king.
After this, I was like, "I'm impressed that I pulled on him...but what if I could get just a LITTLE more. What if I DID get that supercharger I've been eyefucking?"
So I jumped back on the websites frivolously for the past couple nights. I found the Saleen charger that's going to put me from my factory 300 @ the fly to about 400 @ the fly. But it's a little too much stress on the two-piece driveshaft. And with the other upgrades soon-coming, and already on...I expect my car to put down about 420-430 @ rear wheels...so it's time to pave the way.
I'm putting down my bid on a Coast one-piece aluminum driveshaft, and eyeballing 3.73rear end vs. the currently installed 3.55. I'll also probably be adding a driveshaft support brace just for added protection. Not too much longer, and I'll be looking to install the long tube headers (which are going to make my car sound like a death machine, most likely), and probably a dyno tune to last until I get the rest of the money together for the Saleen (or maybe Roush) supercharger. The Roush Stage 3 suspension is being put off for the time being...I may do it just before the charger. As of right now, I haven't felt the need to do anything to the brakes.
Bye bye wallet. Bye bye vacations back at home. Bye bye getting the jetski and/or quad. *sigh* I hate my addiction. It's a disease with no cure.
