The law does not forbid any person who is not ineligible for a firearms license from transporting a loaded firearm in any private passenger motor vehicle in an open manner or in the glove compartment console or similar compartment of the vehicle.
So basically you are right, like i said you probably were. But basically have it in a glovebox or somewhere else in the car, but not on your person or it may be considered "concealed".
I was never worried and I do have had my license for a while nowget a licence or be cool about it if he asks. As long as you are lawfully allowed by federal law to possess it, what would you be worried about unless it was a stolen firearm.
