Please read the entire post if you're interested. I will be as honest as possible about these laptops. I removed these for sale an hour after I posted it because I wanted to be 100% confident about these laptops and their performance.
1) HP DV 6607nr ($275)
This was my main laptop for school and work. Downgraded operating systems to XP so a fresh installation of Vista will accompany the system. Never had any issues and this model was not part of the overheating issue that most HP laptops are plagued by. I played World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike for hours on end and has yet to give me any problems. It has a built in wireless card and I upgraded the ram to 2.5gb. I took out the fan and cleaned it to be sure there was no debris to prevent it from cooling correctly because my DV9730nr went down because of it. I circled a scratch on the computer.

2) HP DV9730nr ($375)
This computers a bit tricky to talk about. I acquired this from a friend as a DOA. He didn't understand why the computer didn't work and I figured I could salvage some parts and upgrade the ram/HD in my DV6607nr. I brought it home and realized his fan was entirely blocked with dust. There was no air getting into the laptop itself. That led me to believe it was a GPU issue. I opened the bad boy up and troubleshooted the issue and discovered the laptop needed a reflux and resolder of the GPU itself. I did all that and now it works. To prevent further issues, I made sure to use Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound on the GPU and the CPU along with a 3.5x3.5 copper shim that was .08 thick to offset future heating issues (you can never be too careful). Like I stated earlier, I removed the posting for this laptop an hour after I posted it because I wanted to test it to make sure it ran fine. I installed some pretty graphics intensive games on it and played them for a few hours/days. No issues, I actually ran 136fps stable on some applications. This computer currently has Windows 7 installed but will be downgrading to its OEM Vista. Also has BlueRay!! Has a stain behind the LCD but didn't want to risk messing with it. It has 2 hard drives (160gb x2) which is pretty cool. The lights above the keyboard went out. Doesn't affect the performance obviously.
