    Default Petit Le Mans Chat

Well its almost that time guys and gals. At the end of the month is my favorite local event of the year.

Last two years I have camped out in the woods near the top of the esses Wed-Sun, this year we might relocate the back straight but not sure yet. Been going to these for the past 5 years and have loved it every year (even last year in the rain shortened race). Hopefully we will get much better weather this year.

So who all is planning on going? Camping? Partying? Who are yall rooting for?

I'll be there for over a week straight, I always camp in the T3 infield. I only missed it in 98 and watched it on TV, I've been there since.

I'll probably get some free tickets at the last minute, then I'll go. Happens for me almost every year.

I hope you all get there early, it's going to be PACKED this year, if you thought 2008 was insane (they towed peoples cars just to make room) then this year is going to be double that.

Yea it will def be packed this year, especially since this race will be the inaugural American race for the new Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

There is a little hill right near the infield road intersection by turns 3/4 where a large group of folks camp out at the same spot every year. Everyone there goes by the name Bob (even if your name isnt bob) so they don't have to remember names, hence the name of the hill. Its an older crowd but some fun people to hang out with for sure.

Where that small pavilion thing is? I camp right near there but don't know them. We always use the same spot every year as well.

Kinda, its across the street from that pavilion and the car corrals on top of a grassy hill.

So who is everyone rooting for? Im hoping for Audi to pull off the win in LMP even though I dont think they have the overall speed that the Peugeots do and Im rooting for Risi in the GT battle though I wouldn't mind seeing the Rahal guys win either.

Defiantly Peugeot and after their 1-2 victory over Audi yesterday I am even more hopeful.

LMP2 Patron/Highcroft, just because of Brabham. Otherwise the Muscle Milk Porsche.

    In GT anyone but BMW.

The other classes I don't really care.

Well Petit was great and I had a blast. I can not believe the Risi team ran out of fuel on the last lap. Epic fail.

I'm still soaking in the feeling of victory! PERFECT race for Peugeot. No excuses this time Audi fans!

I can't believe he ran out of fuel either, what a heart breaking thing to happen.

Big congrats to Oak Racing for a third place finish.
