Im pretty confident it wont happen. Perhaps a standard transmission would be ok, they're not as expensive as engines though. Maybe a stricter fuel and rpm limit would make engines cheaper?

I just hope Max Mosley dies. He is a moron. He keeps changing the engine formula, which costs lots of money. There are R&D costs involved in creating a new engine, etc. He seems to throw out ideas on a whim.
There is a real reason for the manufacturers to leave F1:
1. No North American Race - This is one of their biggest market for street cars in the world. They need to have at least one race here!
2. Single engine supplier - This takes the identity of the manufacturers away. I greatly weakens the spirit of F1. It is a moronic idea that should never had been suggested. Even if it was part of a choice to the teams.

Either way even when the engine formula stays the same, the teams make new engines from scratch every year with unlimited amounts of money, so i dont think it matters.
I also think there should be a north american race, however I dont think manufactures care that much. The US has the biggest market for cars, but unfortunately most people dont care about F1. Compare the ratio of people who know who Michael Jordan is to the people who know who Michael Schumacher is! Even without a North American GP, 2009 will be the most globalized season ever with the most GPs spread in different continents and less in Europe.Originally Posted by richw131
Because 2010 might be the last F1 season if costs are not cut down.Originally Posted by redGT
