well you think about it this way....out of all the manufactures that are in formula one, most of them are all either European companies/sponsors/or European Car manufactorers. For one thing, the idea of having GM in there wouldnt really happen. there too focused on things like nascar and the type or facing that america holds deer. crysler is already involved in F1 with mercades mclaren just not under the crysler name.

oh and on top of that, with INDY there arent even any american manufacturors in IRL anymore. Chevy used to be in it but now all they use is honda. racing has died down in the United States. the only thing that is really holding strong is nascar and even then they speculate that the manufacturors that support most of the teams in that series might pull out in the next few years.

Well... it kinda goes along with what Ran said. America has the NFL, europe and other countries have Futbol. I can't explain it... i'm by no means a wordsmith. But IMHO, F1 has a sort of heritage that only european (and some japanese) teams should be a part of. Even though i despise Nascar, It kinda goes along the same lines of most Nascar fans feeling that Toyota shouldn't be a part of Nascar... because it's always been an American motorsport with American manufacturers.

yeah, i know after i posted that i thought of that, ALMS is definetly gaining steam and in all honesty. thinking about it, after the merger of cart and IRL the crowds at most races have definetly increased in numbers. As long as these two series are marketed well to both young and old, i feel they will probably be the two big racing divisions in the US sooner or later

there definetly trying to push it back into happening, not alot of the manufactores, especially honda an toyota are happy that F1 pulled out. because a big base of their cars that are sold are over here. so they want a race back over here. they are thinkin that it will be back in here next year or maybe the year after.

Very simple way to explain to you how i can sit for 24 hours (straight) and watch a car race. (My Le Mans 24 holiday i take every year)

Racing is different than other sports in that the person watching nows what to be excited about. It's different for people but an F1 race is a good example. You might have 45 mins where "nothing" happens. But there is allot happening. Fuel Strategy's changing conditions. Drivers on different rubber. Etc.... All these add to the show.

But watching racing really is for the select few. That's ball and stick sports are supreme for the majority.

Remember why the GT40 was created in the first place? Yeah cause Enzo didn't sell Italian greatness to an American car company.

Its also said in Italy that when he was alive, "On Sunday Enzo was more important than the Pope."

Oh and then there is F1 which they hold every record. They just scored their 200th win.

oh and what car was Nuvalari driving in the German GP in the 1930's against Hitler's Silver arrows? A Scuderia Ferrari Alfa p3

I know you dislike their street cars but to those of us that live everyday to watch racing, we know what the Prancing Horse represents.
