    1) good tires are essential
    2) try removing excess weight
    3) get new headers
    4) engine management tuning will definitely help

#2. Removing excess Weight... translation... Take a shit...get rid of your spare tire...get that junk out of you trunk...remove ac system...remove stereo system...take out carpet...remove dash... passenger seat. For every 100lbs you get rid of your time drops app .1 of a second in the 1/4. Go here and check real excess weight removal http://www.nerocam.com/SCC_TAP.asp. At the end a=of a long day a 2700lb 16s ended up going 14s awesome.

to shave time off with spending no money is to gut the car. Lower your tire pressure, DONT go through the water if u have before

no, i ran it at silver dollar. cause its closer to where i live. but it was damn hot last night. and on top of that we had to sit in the staging lanes for a good bit. but im looking into a header right now. most likely gonna order it tomorrow. would getting my ecu chipped and re-programmed, work any good?

Honestly, buy a nitrous kit before you buy a header. a header will not increase power by much with your mods and engine now. probably get more power by dropping the cat and run open header.

but get a nitrous kit....best bang for your buck.

^^^ a Nitrous kit is as safe as your setup. If you just slap a kit on and put a 55 shot on it....its not going to last. You must get it tuned before using, NGK IX cold plugs, extra fuel wouldnt hurt (bigger fuel rail, injectors)

Your right, best bang for ur buck No2, but with a shitty exhaust its going to be restrictive as hell.

$300-600 for a kit, $100-200 for tune, $60 for plugs, etc....

me personally wouldnt throw nitrous on ur car yet. get the extra fuel, better exhaust system, do all bolt ons like an intake manifold before going nitrous.

you don't really need all that stuff...most kits are made for "factory setup." it is fine with a 55 shot wet or dry.... just retard the timing a little and run the manucaturer's jetting.

a nitrous kit will cost as much as a decent header. stock exhaust or not, it would still give a better gain in hp wise vs a header.... its just you will not get the most out of the nitrous kit....

also in regards to the plugs... they are only like $15-$20 for copper types that are 2 or 3 steps colder.

I think he can run TR6s which are one step colder than stock and $1.99 a piece at advanced auto. They're gapped at .035 out of the box and haven't heard of anyone with a problem using them.

If you N20 go for a FPSS.

Edit: And try to cut down as much UNsprung weight as you can. (Lighter wheels/tires).

Other than that, seat time will be the best way.

Seriously the easiest way to go faster at the track is to lose the stereo system, passenger seat, rear seats, spare tire, and jack. It's way easier, cheaper, and reliable to take out 100lbs then gain 100hp.

Dunno bout that, I'd MUCH rather install new parts than take off crusty old ones.

iridium plugs ftl..ngk bkr7e...part number 6097. they are one step colder and are the typical plug for basically stock apps with power adders. im not sure about nitrous set-up as i have always been turbo. but if you are looking for a colder plug just go with the ngk normal plugs in a colder range. dont waste your money on some hype. they may be the rage in the stang world but if you do a quick search you will find alot about the normal $2 plugs for hondas. many ppl use them. i buy them by the case every chance i get so i know i wont run out.

yes sir. i run bkr7e's in my turbo gsr. box of 10 is like 20.87 at advanced auto. i have like 2 boxes in my trunk. lol. you drive the black gsr right with the weird tail lights? you stay out in war town with me. i have seen you around a few times and at the track. pm me your number and i can take a look at it, thats a low trap speed for a gsr. i remember when you ran last time i was there. i was trapping 91mph when i was bone stock. i would consider a header/test pipe and a shot of nitrous. but first i would do a compression test on your motor. you should be trapping higher. post a time slip, maybe its the driver not the car (no offfense intended)

the reaction time doesnt really matter to much. The time that matters the most is your 60' time. Launching skill is free but takes practice and till definitely lower your times. What was your 60' on the 16.4 run?

im surprised no one has even asked him about his 60's

yeah we run the NGK part number 5238 i believe....you get them from advance, napa, etc.. those are not expensive <$20.... cars that i know of are making 500whp-600whp-700whp-800whp- and close to 900whp with them...... very cheap....but works.

best thing to do is: weight reduction, run open header, nitrous kit, slicks, seat time.
but it is really up to you to experiment. we're only giving suggestions...its up to you

Yeah 60' is somethin I'd look at. Losing all that weight is somethin I would never do on a daily. Comfortability > 0.2 off 1/4 mile. With an ek d16y8 fully kitted with intake and exhaust I ran 16.9. With a gsr with aem cold air and dc sports header no exhaust no tune I ran 15.4. I'd get better tires and work on your 60'...
