No shop I go to will be tuning my car. I just want to rent dyno time. I do my own tuning. I'm just particular about the type of dyno as I want to do "steady state tuning"

you could probably try to google an inertia dyno in GA

There is a Mustang shop right next to Mainstream that might have a dyno

I found a shop called Orton Performance that has a Mustang awd Dyno. I think they might be the winner.

NO they moved and Mainstream will let you dyno/tune ur car Pretty sure. You would have to talk to Charles, and it might a little more then a regular tune. I know hes done it before.

Columbus doesn't really have a big need for one. There was on called Penny Pusher's off of Veterans next to Groome and Harley Davidson but it closed down.

It's kinda like all the shops that have opened here other than PTAP have closed down just about. My goal is to open a import performance shop but the market here isn't right for it.

specialty shops like an import car shop require a HUGE market since they"re targeting such a small share. The main reason the PTAP hasn't closed down is because they're still selling a lot of parts online now.

Columbus car folks (as a whole) are too concerned with teh body kitz and dem pimp'n rimz to care about engine performance. Eventually that will change, but not for a long time.

x2 and it sucks because any good performance shops will just die out here

In a perfect world that would be awesome... however, friends come to expect hook ups - which doesn't help a business keep its doors open. I've experienced this firsthand working on airplanes; a quick "favor" turns into an afternoons worth of work which i would normally be paid for if it was just another customer.

I totally agree with that too. I'm going to be lookin in a industrial park soon for a space to put a lift in and have somewhere for the "crew" to work on our stuff. It's hard to work on my cars in an apartment building.

even with all the military brats with mommy and daddy's money? If a shop were to open up and could come out to britt on occasion with an unsuspecting, well built car that was extremely fast, don't you think it would grab some attention? Promote a new thought process among the "dummies" that come out now?

Most well built and extremely fast cars arent built by shops. Maybe stuff like the sleeves and valvetrains are done by shops unless you have acess to the needs which is usually highly unlikely. I dont have respect for a shop built car...unless its by the owner of the shop. Any one can drop off a car and pay money to have something built. But the problem with that is then 9 outta 10 they run around hollaring they built it.

Yea If I had a shop I would have a "shop" car which would be a tax write off but I would have to have it done in that year.

Most of the people that come to Britt care nothing about "fast". They care more for the looks and under glow lol. The "fast" cars are usually at Amercian Buffalo but it's too cold right now for people to do anything.

i don't mind the cold, i just don't like how when the car "melts" when I'm driving with the frost melting, the car gets wet, which means it gets dirty... which means i have to wash it... and then wind up with a nice case of frozen hands.

    stupid frost...

Quick tech question to all yo local peeps:

Ok so I got them there Buddy Club N+ coilovers on the hatch. If you're familiar with the design (and many other similarly designed full coilover setups), the height adjustment is independent from the spring pre-load. Everyone still on the same page? Ok so... The rears adjust fine, spring stays pre-loaded to upper strut mount, full setup adjusts down into bottom piece which is bolted to lca. Fronts, well... not so fine. The damn shit won't adjust down into lower piece which goes into the front forks, so I gotta just spin the upper perches and take most of the pre-load off the spring to lower my front any. This my friends is what I call "boo boo" and I'd like to fix it. Any suggestions on how I could go about "un-freezing" the threads? I know A.T. Himself already janked up a set of omni's by trying to do what I'm needing to get done, and I don't wanna repeat that.

    Any takers?

Maybe I should post this in the General Tech forum.
