you can have 400+hp and still get traction with the right tires. but i wouldn't over do it though. 300hp will be plenty enough to keep most people from messing with you, and running a 400+hp car as a DD will cause a lot of problems. i know a guy who did it and it fucked his tune all up. at the car's prime, it was layin down about 450hp. hitting 13's at the track.

edit. i say you will be looking to spend around $3000 or more. just to turbo the car is going to be about $2000. but thats all if you did it yourself. minus the tune.

rods will run about $300 brand new.
piston heads will run about $4-500 new
pro2's are about $650 new

you should be able to find all this stuff for cheaper used. just make sure its all still in good condition. i'm sure most of it could be found in the for sale section on here.

the pro2's are seen hp gains of about 20hp or so. i would suggest running pro1's since pro2's say you will need to upgrade the entire valve terrain.

pro3's though, are fucking serious. i would not mess with these unless i had a fully built motor running like 9:1 compression and shooting for around at least 500hp.

the pro1's are good for goals which you are going for.:goodjob:

just hit up google and research the fuck out of different parts and see whats out there.

So if I get around the 400 mark.. how hard is it to steer when you take off? I've heard a couple people say that over a certain amount of HP you don't get to feel it. I don't want to get to the point of where I can't drive it somewhere because it scares me or something lol. What kind of tires are good for daily use and amazing traction? I can get some new front rims if needed.

tires all depend of what you are looking to get out of them. you can either have traction or long life, can't get both, lol. there is a set of tires i'm wanting to try out, i just don't have the $500 i need to get them. they're Toyo Proxies4.
take off with 400hp on a DD is easy. just like any other car, as long as you stay out of it, it won't be a problem. 400hp would be the peak potential of the car, and if you don't lay into it, you wouldn't be using all the power there.
depending on the budget for the build, depends on what the car can do. if you want to completely build the motor, don't hold out on cheap parts. cheap shit brakes. get good name brand stuff that is good for the street. know what kind of times you are looking to hit in the 1/4 and then determine what kind of hp would be needed to achieve it.

fuck yeah.. replaced the PS pump in my truck today. Took me 4 hours to just get the god damn pulley off and back on the new one!! WHY wouldn't the new pumps NOT come with a new fucking pulley pressed on them?! Took me an hour to find someone with a pulley puller.. and after a trip to napa to get bolts that can handle human torque I finally got the damn pulley off and I had to spend an hour trying to find someone with a fucking PS pump pulley press kit.
I can't wait until my tool box is full of tools like these. This was a 30 min job tops. I bet I spent a total of 20 mins working under the truck. The rest was locating tools and breaking the shitty tools and having to replace parts. lol

i wouldn't call him a legend, but back in the day his car was fucking scootin.

but i do know he thought no one could beat him, till the night some other guy just rolled up and called him out. other guy was in a blue foxbody and straight up called him out for a $250 run. boomer got smoked. he thought he was gonna be a bad-ass and heat up the slicks right before the run with a gallon of water out of the back of his car. still got smoked. i never liked boomer's attitude.

main reason people choose fox's is cause of weight. they're light cars. and with a v8 its gonna scoot either way. i want to get a foxbody and drop a chevy motor in it. i don't like ford and the foxbody is the only mustang i like other than the 69 fastback.

my buddys cobra MURDERED boomers car and he was spraying on the track and in the streets

well the other night i went from 350 to 400 to 550 all motor but who knows and on one stage of nitrous 750 and 2 stage it was like 900 but who knows i mean its oks but not what its cut out 2 be honestly and ya he loves 2 use that spray no matter if he says he aint or not and listen 2 the funny thing he calls all honda ricer but he is the one with the GT-R badge on his car..lol..we were trying 2 get jason jones up there sat night 2 show him a ricer..lol..but not this sunday but the next darrell miller is gonna rap him..there going to the track..
