Default Sprayed my 91 Lude 4WS Si with a rattlecan... (pics inside)

Well like the title says I sprayed my Lude with flatblack... It took almost 6 hours and 5 can of paint for the first coat. Most of the time was prep work like taking the pin stripe off and sanding.

Good pics with new 2 megapixel phone

Bad pic with old 1.3 megapixel phone

Seriously well done, you got lucky that something didn't go wrong and you end up looking like a ricer.

what did you use if you dont mind me asking.... when i did my old EG flat black, i used some kind of flat black truck trim spray... worked well, but only reason im suggesting to clear it is that it will help hold up the look and wont chip, you can probably find a flat clear

I used the dupony flat engine paint that is at Wal Mart and Auto Zone. It is the high temp paint and I think that it was a good choice. The good thing about this paint is I was my car every day or ever other day and it doesn't come off. I have ran my hand all over it just to see if it would rub off and it doesn't.

Send me pics of your Lude and number and I will call you....

I will need a garage, alot of tape, newspapers ( to cover windows and anything else ), and 5 or more paint cans. There maybe more when I think about it but send me pics at [email protected]

Flat black lays down so smoothly.

The problem is once it starts to sun fade you will see the lines from when you painted it, it will look like shit in 2 months, however... that shows you have a good hand and good can control and could paint it in your garage and have it come out pretty decent.

Not exactly true man, I admit it, i sprayed my fenders in August 2005 and they're now starting to show signs of fading.

Depends on your coats, If you spray painted a whole car for $20 4-5 cans - you might be in trouble.

I got your text message about this. Looks like you put lots of work into it, and it doesnt look bad at all for a rattle can job.
