Default My New DD: 2G MR2

I bought a 1991 Toyota MR2.... non turbo with light mods. This car is so much fun!

    Bilstein Dampers/Tien S Tech's
    Strut Braces (Ebay FTW)
    AeroTurbine Exhuast (sounds amazing!)
    Intake w/ scoop unit

I got it with the 15" Volk Meshies (all season tires), and put this set of Advan AVS Model 5's on that I had laying around. 16x7.5/+32 front with 16x8/+35 rear... fits like they were made for this car with 225/45 KDW's. Handles great!

And yes, the DIY front splitters/JDM plate are coming off... and the center piece of the wing is going back on.

I am in love with this car!

If it was my car I'd get the 94+ tails, OEM fogs, 93+lip and remove that tom's look-a-like scoop, and get OEM mirrors or something besides the ones that are on there....they just don't go with the lines of the car! just my so don't take any offense

If I can find a good deal on all the mentioned OEM parts, I'll certainly jump on it.

But it'll have to be cheap. As for the lip, it grew on me. So it's DIY for now.

I always wondered about these cars. Looks like even the n/a version is fun to drive. What are you're long term plans for it?

that is a nice lookin SW mang! personally id keep the 5S in there or better yet a 3SGE (NA) swap (Possibly a BEAMS). they make amazing track motors...very torquey(5s anyway) and wont put you in a ditch mid corner when your turbo spools hard on you. otherwise get a 3rd Gen 3SGTE and be done with it!!

Are you going to stagger your tires? Running the same sized tires on staggered wheels seems counterproductive...
Nice DD though, try not to have too much fun.

    LoL...

I got a brand new set of 225/45/16 BFG KDW's for 125 dollars. That doesn't seem conterproductive to me at all.

The likelihood of me doing anything extreme to this car is slim. I plan on having less than 2k in it... so the wheels that I have in my garage will do fine, don't you think?

Fix the little cosmetic things, and enjoy the hell out of it. When I want to go fast: See signature.

Thanks for all the kind words! adrian

Well, certainly the purchase of those tires was not counterproductive. Great buy! You might, however, consider the benefits that setup would have for your car. As you stated earlier, this vehicle will not be one to accrue alot of expenses, so I understand your decision.
