Default My new to me Mach 1 and resulting 3 day detail...

Those who know me, I do high end detailing for a living. The type of detailing that can take anywhere from 10-60 hours on one vehicle. For my new to me Mach 1, the car deserved my highest level package. For a car with 23,000 miles on it, it deserved to look like it was brand new. Paint was in pretty rough shape and needed a lot of work. Previous owner had it detailed by a less than professional detailer and the paint was covered in marring. Engine bay was just as bad. So, spent the last 3 days doing the car out fully. 100% correction, all jambs cleaned and sealed, engine bay/paint was cleaned and sealed/dressed. Then applied the Opti-Guard Resin Treatment to the paint. Paint came out amazing. Literally looks better than new. Under all the micro marring, scratches and water etching, was amazing paint.

Pulled it in too start cleaning.

Took a few shots of the paint and glass prior to cleaning...

Engine bay before cleaning it up...

Trunk jamb that needed to have this mold removed...

After washing the car and stripping the paint, this is the condition it was in.

Did a test area to figure out exactly it was going to take too get too 100% correction.

    Test area...

    After...

Then some 50/50 of the area...

Removed the spoiler to be able to correct the paint underneath...

    Condition underneath the spoiler...

Taped up and ready to start working on the whole car...

A better comparison of the difference that just polishing made...

Rear window was pretty well covered in water mineral build up...

After all the correction was done and the paint was cleaned with an alcohol solution...here is the condition of pretty clean paint.

Trunk jamb cleaned of the mold...

    Taillights needed to be done...

    Taillights after...

Engine bay after. Paint was cleaned and sealed. Plastics and shaker were cleaned and dressed.

Now for all the after shots. Paint has some serious gloss and color too it now.

WOW!!!! Looks like a new paint job!

Is this cheaper than a new paint job? Im sure 60 hrs of labor is up there in price.

I'd bring my car in, but I'm scared Hondas paint got a little too thin in 2012. It could use it as it was pretty bad straight from the dealer and the shitty finishing guy at the body shop made the whole passenger side worse when they repainted it.

This did not take me 60 hrs. But I have spent close to 60 hours in a detail before. lol. THis took me about 25 hours. If this was for a customer, my Exterior Level 3 Package starts at $1500, plus what I did on this...total would have been around $2000 for everything. So compared to what a good or perfect paint job would cost, this was cheaper.

Its amazing work that you do and worth every penny. As i said before, if i ever decide to stop being a cheap ass and get a car worthy of this treatment, you will be the only person i contact.

If you bring it by, I can measure your paint and tell you whether or not its too thin. But you would have to spend a lot of money for me to do an extensive enough correction to really level the clear. Your car would probably be a good candidate for the special I am doing this month. I know Craig goes through cars quick but I thought he would hold onto that one. CO, low miles, clean, nicely modded. What an awesome Mach

Yeah I saw that. I was the one who said "hmmmm". Lol

That 1st stage correction would probably fix the car up nice. Its brand new and Ive been keeping decent wax/sealer on it and 2bucketing it. I'd swing for the optiguard too. I'd have to bring it in to show you what the body shop did, but they repainted it and swirled the shit out of the passenger side. I could probably fix that and let you do the rest. I'll try to swing by your shop sometime next week in the AM and let you look at it.

Helped plenty of people out. Most ask a question or PM me with questions and they get answers. A DIY is pointless, but most things I am going to use, weekend warrior style detailers are not going to pay for. Now if you are curious on something I can give you recommendations on products to you. But if your considering doing to the extent I did, go ahead and budget in about $800-1000 worth of products. lol

After three years of selling the TR Mach...when I saw Craigs car listed, I crumbled. Did a fast sale on my truck too get his CO Mach. Whats even more nice is he did not know what was all done to the car. Its not a factory T56, has an alum d/s and a built rear end. lol

Text me or call ahead first. I wont be here Monday. But yeah, if you want Opti-Guard that special will work, but not the polishing special. Those cannot be done together. My Exterior Level 1 Package, should be able to take care of anything the body shop did. Unless they left tracers in the paint.

Very nice. What is involved in the water sport/stain removal from the windows?

Polishing. Luckily it was mineral build up, so the etching was not severe. There are certain polish/pad combos out there that are good for polishing windows.

Awesome work as always. I'm way to riddled with ADD to have the focus to detail a car anywhere near that level (or at all for that matter).

Let me know. You can see other work/prices at Mirror Detailing - Home . I thought about leaving it off...but I am trying to leave the body as original as possible. Now a cobra front bumper and no wing = pure sexy looking.
