plasti dipped my wheels.. first time using this stuff

looked around and found a few different ways to apply this stuff. i opted just to leave the wheels on the car... used a trash bag to cover the rotor and caliper...

just wiped the wheels down .. no other prep work.

when applying i really didnt think this stuff was going to work... i had to apply like 6-7 coats before i started to get an even full looking finish.

the nice part about doing this was cleaning up the over spray. just peel that crap off

ill role around like this for a while then test out spray painting over the plasti dip to see if i can still peel it off with a coat of paint over the top of it.

I think I would of covered up the lugs... not my car though. Overall the car looks good.

lol yea i didnt bother taping off the lugs... going to get new tires soon so when i take off the wheels i was gonna peel the dip off of them.

Nice job. Plasti-dip is great stuff, I've done it on my bbs 1-2 yrs ago. Very durable; light pressure wash and it will still hold. It only comes off when you need it to come off- by simply peeling it. I plan on doing it this winter as well just to prevent grime and potentially the salts that might be on the road between Dec - Feb.

I plastidipped my whole car. Caught some hell on IA, but it's a cheap easy way to get a temporary color change. I would advise you not to spray paint on top of it though. When you do that, it flakes off instead of peeling. it's still possible to get it off, just a LOT more work.

Doesn't look too bad. I've seen all kinds of plasti-dipped wheels but I do believe this is the first white plasti-dip job I've encountered. Props for being a little adventurous.

The over spray on the drive way came off by rubbing it with a rag

Yep, I spent less than $400 total, including alot of extra stuff I ended up not needing, and an airless sprayer.

I'm going to do this to my motorcycle wheels in a few weeks. Looked at a bunch of car and trucks with it done and it seems like a good and quick way to change colors.
