    Default 02 S2000 to 98 CX/SiR

Some of you might remember me. I lived in Georgia a few years ago, and ended up moving up North for a job, specifically, Illinois. I lived in Gwinnett County and was a regular at the Sonic meets. My girlfriend goes to school at GSCU, in Milledgeville, so I'm through the North/South Georgia area on the reg. I just wanted to share my most recent project to the few of you I know, and if anyone see's me, high five!

This is what the S2000 looked like when I lived down there. I had pretty much just acquired the car and loved it. Not much to look at I know.

This was taken with my buddy Tae, his car was featured in Honda Tuning a couple months ago.

Anyway, moved up to Illinois, found myself having some more money with a state job, so I started to modify the S2000

Had the lip painted, picked up a buddy club spec 3 and hated it. It was too loud for my taste, so I ended up trading that for an Invidia Q300

Ended up picking up some Blue Enkei RPF1's and threw those on. Also during this time I was introduced to Jesse Vaughn. He owns a shop in my area and has done some work on several cars in Honda Tuning. Picked up one of his intakes for the S2000.

So time past, loved the car, but eventually I got tired of driving it to and from Georgia. Decided to pick up an EK. I had one prior to the S2000 and loved it.

Picked up this gem from a gentleman in St. Louis, and man it was a piece.

The car was spray painted green, the vinyl wrapped beige. The bay, yea, that is rhino liner

Contacted Jesse for a full paint job/restore on this car, and this is what I'm driving today.

Aside from the wheel style, the car looks pretty decent.

If you don't mind sharing, can I know what is the cost of your paint and body work, like how much did you pay for the entire assemble and disassemble so the could paint every tiny corner in the engine bay and the outside of the body?

There has to be a different reason for you moving from one car to the next other than "getting tired of driving to and from Georgia"... lol. The new car looks good, but I know you have to miss your AP1.

I needed more room, is the reason. This is just as fun, with the tune it does alright and I still have about a 9k redline.I miss power steering, and the top being gone. Thats about it.

I commute daily in a plain ass accord lol. I don't drive my "modified" vehicles often so I doubt you'd spot me in them, however, if you see a white G35 or a black and blue honda ruckus it's most likely me.

Thanks man, thats really what I wanted to do. Everyone is trying too hard to get attention with the lowest offset they can fit and super bright paint jobs. Not my style.

I feel you on that 100%. I think my favorite thing about your hatch is that it looks like it's been frozen in time since 2002, yet still holds its own a decade later.

Personally I love em. I had a set of Type-C's on my hatch and I kick myself for ever getting rid of em. Classic design and not overly done. Have you ever thought about re-finishing em? I dunno why but I'm curious to see what they'd look like in a matte black.

Thats what I was trying to do! Go back to the old days! lol

The plan was to refinish them in matte black actually, then saw them with the paint, remembered they are discontinued, and decided not to. If anything I'd trade them for a set of matte black Type-C's

Cleaned it out and washed and waxed it this morning. Its coming to Georgia tomorrow

Also I don't have any interior shots. The interior is far from what I want, but its not horrible.

    HOLY THREAD BUMP/UPDATE YO

Car has been in the garage for the winter. Pulled it out for a wash

Ended up picking up a Recaro Sport. Super nice seat and way more comfortable then the SRD that was previously installed cause I'm fat.

Also ended up changing the rear motor mount for an OEM replacement rather then the Innovative track mount that was in there. 10 times better, but don't have any pictures of that happening. Sold the daily beater truck so this is my only car right now. Other then that, its been washed several times, had an oil change and been driven everyday.:hugs:

Did a little routine maintenance. New ICM, coil and wires.

Long story short, clutch went out in Nashville on my way home for Atlanta, so of course I get a hold of Mike at Track. One through Instagram of all things. Mike and Dan took great care of me!

Car got clutch, axles and a new rear main seal

Ended up getting my windshield replaced, due to it being so pitted up from driving everywhere, then the same day, took a little road trip to Chicago to visit some friends up there. Nothing too exciting.

    Windshield by skittle_107, on Flickr

    Lights by skittle_107, on Flickr

Then it snowed like 8 inches so the civic remained parked and we derped around in the jeep also seen here

    Snow by skittle_107, on Flickr

    Coffee by skittle_107, on Flickr

Ended up picking up a T1R titanium shift knob. Probably going to switch between this and the Spoon knob

    T1R by skittle_107, on Flickr

and finally, Not really an update, but figured I'd share.

Ended up picking up a Spoon Sports Banner and a new shift pattern for my knob from Matt at ICB. I'm in the Milledgeville/Atlanta/Demorest area for a couple weeks, so no work is happening, just prepping for IA ATL

Threw the banner on. I realize its nots everyone's taste, but I enjoy it.
