the template of the 240 is pretty basic and has worked for a lot of other cars. since when was a hard lined coupe with a long hood and short truck/hatch not cool?

i mean seriously........ 240sx follows the mold laid forth by many other LEGENDARY sports cars. Compare the profile shot of the 180sx to the Ferrari 355......

If you can honestly say you dont like anything about the 240sx....... even a little bit......

You probably need to just accept the fact that you have poor taste in cars.

psychologist say that subconsciously what attracts us to women is hip to waste ratio and proportions. Clearly car manufacturers understand this as you can see how many sports cars follow the same template. If you look at every car i listed, they all have almost identical hood/trunk/roof ratios. I honestly dont understand how a car enthusiast can be so turned off by a 240sx. sometimes i feels like im talking about titties with homosexuals.

I'm a big fan of 240s, I think all the drifting hype has killed a lot or led to bad modding. When I say bad modifying I mean quarter panels screwed on, parts of the car different colors, the hole hellaflush thing, eBay turbo kits, but most of that stuff goes for any type of cars there some like that in every car community. Most 240s I see are beat up and spray painted some odd color and it's cool to them cause it's a "drift race car" they daily.

Not an insult, just pointing out that your opinion is contradictory to common belief. If you said the world was flat and i responded "most people think its round" that's not insulting you, simply stating a commonly accepted reality. There's certain characteristics that define a sports car. If you did a scientific breakdown of what those characteristics are..... very few of the cars you like would be a part of that list. Egg shaped sedans are not what most sports car enthusiast like. Doesnt make your opinion wrong....... just makes it uncommon. some people like obese women.... but that's not the most commonly accepted view of what is attractive.

these are fat girls...... no other way to say it. I dont hate the 200sx... i looks alright, but it looks like the extremely boring, overweight, pigeon toe'd little sister of the 240sx.

The only thing that would make the red 180 on the first page any better is if it was the factory purple and the TE37s were silver.

I, for one, love 240SXs and always have. It's just not feasible to have one as a daily unless I have a four door car since I have my son. Currently, I do have my four door Accord so owning a 240SX is feasible.

I think it's been apparent for a while now, that QD's taste in cars differs from most, not bad just different. It seems like he doesn't go for the conventional sporty. The less flash the better.

Fair enough, my man. I apologize for jumping. My opinion may only be uncommon in this genre of modifying. Uncommon on this site. But not uncommon in general.

I should have made myself more specific as I forgot about the 200sx's you posted. I meant the earlier generations.

Thank you, Genji. That pretty much sums me up. I never have been one to go for the "hot right now" car or look. This doesn't mean I won't say that a 240 is a nice looking car if I think it is.

Just from seeing your posts on here, I've known that for awhile. I just feel like sometimes you go out of your way to get your tastes across (i.e. "that car is alright, but I prefer [insert obscure, boxy 80s car with a cult following]"). Nothing wrong with that, just what I've gathered

That being said, I actually do like the 200sx you posted, largely due to the fact that my dad had one when I was a little kid.

I do disagree with this. I've never gone into a thread of someone's car saying that. Now I have voiced my opinion s on what I would do differently to the car in topic. But I wouldn't see a point in going into your thread about your "Civic EK with Tanabe exhaust and Spoon mirrors" and tell you how much better I like the 1981 Toyota Corona. That just doesn't make sense, you know... Now if the topic is about what do you prefer or somewhere relative to that, sure I'll let it be known. Later, QD.

You'd be right if we were talking in relation to people on IA. But the cars I like aren't exactly "IA caliber" cars. My tastes in cars are certainly not unknown, not prominent and not misunderstood. They have their own following just like Civics and 240s have their own. The Civics and 240s, though, are popular mostly because of Fast and Furious and because they are newer and not as costly to buy, operate and keep operating. Later, QD.

Was this a witty way at saying QD's taste in cars is contradictory??? b/c i was referring to the fact that a car can't be obscure and have a cult following

famous words of the anti-conformist conformist. I dont like or DISLIKE a car because it did or did not appear in a movie. I dont think you can honestly say the same. Cars in movies is nothing new....... fast and furious didnt start the trend of big screen auto advertising. Previous movies were equally as successful at their agenda of presenting a car to the masses. Also note that Fast and Furious was a movie about the EXISTING world of street racing.... it didnt start it.

I think you misunderstood his statement. I perceived it as something to the effect of "the cars he likes are only 'obscure' to IA's population, which takes a liking to civics and 240s, due F&F movies. Not that he likes cars b/c of movies." I'm assuming somewhere out there there's a forum full of QD's that scoff at a set of gold rotas, HID's, polyurethane lip kits and flash futuristic curves, but adores the harsh boxy lines of the automotive culture pre 90s and there we'd probably all get flamed, lol

I'm not trying to disagree with you, i simply just do disagree with you. Fast and Furious came out in 2001 and opened in theaters outside of Atlanta. People on IA "take a liking" to the same cars everyone else on the planet is. Just so happens that not too many people are that excited about taking a run of the mill economy car from the 70-80s and restoring it to look like the cover of a Haynes manual.

^^^Lol, i completely agree with you EA civics are freakin ugly and there's barely an EF i'll take a second look at, but i think that fact that you disagree with QD's automotive taste (as do i, in most cases) only confirms his previous post:

Saying you disagree with his taste in cars is no more common/appropriate than saying you disagree with his (or any other person's) taste in women (or men if that's your thing, lol)

Again, Genji nails it. On IA, you're probably right. In the actual world, you're not quite so right.

Again, you're trying too hard to label me and make me look wrong when opinions are neither right nor wrong. I wouldn't try to persuade you to like my car, so why try to make me like yours? Later, QD.
