    Default Finally a Supra

Finally picked up my first Supra. Its a 1990 MK3 Turbo 5spd.

It has a rebuilt motor by Toyota with less than 45k on the motor. Previous owner had it for 11 years, and was bought by someone in the family.

The car drives amazing, prob one of the best cars I have own.

Pics. Maybe a build thred soon

I would love to have one of these myself, it's just too hard to find one in respectable condition. Looks like you found a nice one

Awesome man. I have an 89'. People give them a lot of shit for the headgasket deal but they are seriously fun and comfortable rides.

    Targa?

Yeah, after doing a lot of research it just comes down to torquing the head to the correct specs. And yes its a Targa.

Maybe we can get a meet going. Maybe an all Supra meet.... I know there are a couple guys around town.

This is the problem I see in a lot of the ones I've looked at. It really makes me question getting one. But since the OP's was rebuilt he should be good to go!

Yeah man I'd be down. I'm still a few months before mine is completely road worthy. Just moved back down from NY so I don't have a lot of money to play with or a place to work on it at the moment. We used to do the meets back in the day and run like 6 mk3s deep.

Yeah you know the biggest issue is that people don't understand that this is a 20 year old turbo car which has most likely gotten the shit kicked out of it for that amount of time before you bought it (but the headgasket deal is also definitely a real issue from the factory).

This is my car's history simplified... bought -> blown headgasket -> Ran great -> spun rod bearing -> went 2j.

I actually built another 7m before the 2j but wasn't particularly happy with the machine shop's work.

Congrats on the find, ive looked at several over the years and they are usually in terrible condition or blown up.

I miss my MA71... The wife doesn't though, if I ever pull a Supra in the driveway again she'd kill me.

    1. That picture is from when we went to stone mountain years back right?

Very nice find! get it out in the sun for some real pics! A new set of wheels will really make that car "pop".
