and here is the story as to how i got to be my legal daily driver, cause im sure people are gona say its a 240 vin or say it cant be done.



i checked craigslist everyday for about a month for someone with a cool car who wanted to trade for my is300 since i was over it. then one day decided to type in skyline just for kicks. from a guy asking 12,000 for a r32 gts-t, and sent a text asking if he would be interested in a trade for my manual is300. he asked for info, blah blah blah, talked for few days. so i decided to meet up with him in auburn to check out the car. drove out he drove my car i drove the skyline, then traded my 2002 is300 that i paid 5 for, daily drifted and put 40,000 miles on in a year for it strait up. called my insurance, had it added as a 89 nissan skyline and drove it home. i was a little worried at first that i didnt get a title. so the next day i walked into the dmv asked to register and apply for the lost title. she asked for the vin, i gave it to her and she asked if it was a 1989 nissan skyline, i said yes. then she said i had to get a title bond to get the title, and have a gwinnett county police officer inspect the vin, then to come back. so went home called the non emergency number and had a cop come out. he showed up about an hour later and was like wow a skyline and had a million questions for me. and laughed because i didn't get the gtr. he filled out a form and gave it to me saying its all clear. then i drove up to this place in gainsville to do the title bond. they asked for 200 dollars that i wouldn't get back if the car was stolen or had a lien against it. in which case they would take the car from me. but it came back as the title didn't belong to anyone and she gave me some papers saying the title is in my name now. then i went to a emmisons place. it passed on its own. then went back to the dmv and paid 40 for the tag and registration. and now its registered, titled, and insured as a nissan skyline. and i daily it now haha. got pulled over today for the first time, the cop walked up to the left side and i couldn't help but smile that he went to the wrong side, and he asked if i knew when he stopped me. i said no, then he asked if he could check out my car haha, spent 15 min on the side of the road while he checked it out.

He goes thru RHD cars lke nobodies business, he had a pretty clean soarer for a while, but anyway nice r32, but i hope ur aware that any skyline other than the R33 GTR is considered "contraband" stateside and subject to seizure w/o any compensation (Even with the proper papers). Sooooo, i hope you have a DD, but clean skyline

sorry to burst your bubble but cops these go to the "passenger side" of vehicles to avoid any ill intent the driver may have. so technically he went to the correct side. if you wanted to buss a cap in his ass he would have more room to avoid it.

I think he meant that the cop went to the "Drivers Side" of the car, where he would normally sit. Which is the only thing that smart cops will do. We did a stuntschool in march and hired a Cobb Country SWAT officer to do our building entry and clearing training so the stunt people would know how to act on camera. He brought his cop car and we used his and mine to simulate traffic stops, and stops gone bad. I learned a WHOLE lot that day about SWAT, traffic stops, how cops position themselves and their cars during a traffic stop, how they place their fingers on your tail light on the walk up so if you shoot em, their prints are on your tail light. It's crazy.

So if the officer went to the normal, "drivers" side, he did right. You will notice though that most cops, smart ones at least, do not pass the B Pillar. Makes it harder for you to turn round in your seat to shoot them.

To Genji, even though Skylines are considered contraband with R33's being the exception, in Georgia.....nobody, and I mean nobody is going to sieze that car. That shit only happens in Cali unless you do something dratically dumb and get arrested. Then there MIGHT be a slim chance they will sieze it. In Georgia, if the title says Skyline, and the cops run the tag and it says Skyline, and the back of the car says Skyline....it's all good. Cops down here don't give a shit about Skylines because most don't know what they are and when they see a right hand drive car, they want to ask questions, not try to figure out if it's legal or not. Unless.....you are doing something monumentally dumb with it.

This car is a whore and traded within a couple of months by every owner and from what i heard has electrical problems, yeah the guy was 21 and a trade whore not (weathly) or a big shot in any means and he didnt trade his is300 for it he traded his old ass cbr 600 and jdm front end integra for that is300 that had been totaled in the rear and not claimed on insurance then traded that for a s2k had the s2k for like 2 days and traded that for a evo8 that was ragged out. Traded the evo for this skyline, the skyline for the soarer that was beat up and the soarer for a NA auto supra that he just sold for 11k....hes had 2 cars rhd so he doesnt go thru them like you think. And your right if you do work hard you can get what you want a 12k skyline is not by any means something you need to be rich to buy.

Is this the supra he sold for 11k. NA auto converted to TT? The one i see in the first thread. To sell for that low it must have had some gremlins.

Funny A buddy of mine sold his low mileage (60k) MKIV TT to a guy in Villa Rica for 12k. A year goes by and the guy is selling that car for 24k - 25k, after refurbishing it in RSP (very desirable color). Needless to say that car had gremlins...totally not worth 24k unless you fix those gremlins which is not cheap. And i'm pretty sure the guy didn't address them.

nah it was just a plain ole white NA auto supra with black wheels...honestly if i was him i would have kept the evo8 and made it nice now he just sold a NA supra for 11k as to where that evo8 was worth double that and worth more then all the cars he's had sounds like a big mistake to me. 11k wont buy a evo or nothing tooo exotic. I agree there is something wrong with that NA-T supra

I had a chance to have this same car, passed on it. G/L with the car, definitely not something you see every day. And those feds are out to get them also. I read online, or was it posted on here, where a guy had two of his skylines seized by the feds.

Supposedly they don't meet EPA or DOT standards.

Basically if the government notices a Skyline registered, they go after it, or so I have heard, GTR or not. I am sure there are more details to it than I have heard or many post around the internet, Ray, let us know if it gets taken away. lol
