    Default SPSU Bath tub races

IDK how many of you would/do know about this, but my school used to hold bath tub races, with basically a go-kart equipped with a bathtub as the seat. Now its been 20 years since they have held these races, and they brought them back this year without the motors. From what I have heard they are hoping to have the more go-kart-esque races next year. Here are a few snapshots from the day. Composition wasn't really a priority in the majority of them.

I remember these. Once they quit racing these they started the SAE race team. Some of the bath tubs (actual cast iron tubs) were reaching 90+mph going down the old hill.

yah the bathtub races sounded like a lot of fun to watch. Prof Jordan and Whittle have some stories to tell about them. as for the SAE team. i dunno whats going on now with it but i was the team leader in the spring of last year. it was a lot of fun but i butted heads with the "faculty advisor"/control freak Prof Fleming. im on a sorta perma ban from FSAE at SPSU. i made too many waves there and stood up against the professors on the issue of how the team was being treated. it went down and finally got some structure and i guess its coming back. im still on the contact page though lol http://fsae.spsu.edu/contact.php

here is the car that was finished with me as team leader. cant even begin to think how many man hours i put into it myself.
