This impedes airflow through the radiator at speed, and increases drag, AND increases front end lift. The air flowing into the engine bay at the base of the hood is how a ducted cowl induction system works. A guy on Rx-7 club removed the rear weatherstripping under the rear of the hood in his FC and measured higher water temperature due to lack of radiator airflow. If you want hot air to escape, as well as reduce front end lift, put it back, and cut a vent about 5 or 6 inches away from the base of the windshield. I hate how people do this hood "mod" without knowing the physics behind it, it also looks like shit, and should only ever be done for clearance.
