So I had to scurry to find a new location. Luckily, a train restoration yard not a mile down the road offered some pretty amazing backdrops, and the manager there turned out to be a car guy, so three minutes before the car was handed over to me for the day, I secured the location. Whew.

The shoot ultimately took several more hours than I was expecting, simply because of the unevenness of the ground; made driving extremely slow going. But the rail was full of interesting subjects to park the car against, so I didn't mind the delays. I'm particularly fond of the juxtaposition between the vintage stainless steel image of speed with the train, and the futuristic alien flat black interpretation of speed with the Porsche.

Hope you enjoy my newest series.

It's probably wrapped. Come to think about it, it might be Fred's old car. I need to read the thread.

Edit: It is his old car.

Pretty creative photography. Never loved the GT, but it's certainly a cool car.

Did anyone else notice the wheel center caps are blue on the passenger side, and red on the driver side?

One is tightened clockwise, the other counterclockwise. The hubs the PCGT uses are the same as a Le Man's locking system. It's one bigass lugnut and they turn in opposite directions so that the wheels tighten themselves on as they rotate forward (they either torque themselves down under acceleration, or braking, I forget, but prolly braking as it generates more torque than even REALLY powerful engines, this prevents a conventional lug system from loosening up under hard driving). The color codes tell the pit crew how to have the impact wrenches set.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

Ahhh, so they serve an awesome purpose. I didn't realize they were single nut wheels.

    What's the difference?

The previous owner had it wrapped. Him and the photographer call it matte black, so I'm going to trust their judgment.

Reps for knowing the answer. The center lug on the CGT is torqued to 470lbs. What's weird is typically "Red is right" but in the Carrera GT's case Porsche put blue on the right and red on the left...look at just about any photo of any CGT and you'll notice the different colors.

Knock-off and center locking hubs have been around forever. The hub/lug is put on and tightened so the rotation is towards the back of the car. You DO NOT want to tow a car backwards with center locking hub...the wheels will fall off lol!

Not sure about square feet, it's too early / late to figure it out. I think it ran around $5k for the wrap, IIRC.

I saw this car, or maybe another CGT with an identical wrap job, in New Orleans over Halloween weekend. I still think it's an amazing car, it made me love Porsche all over again.
