Agreed, even though I still like it, as rough and grunge as it is.

If it was painted a flat sliver it would look so sexy.

That thing is crazy awesome looking.

I'm pumped to start seeing cars made in the 80's-90's being made into rat rods as time goes on.

    I'm not

To me the rat rod look looks out of place on anything built after 1964 or so. And even then, I like the ones that are nicely done, not the ones that look like you need a tetanus booster once a week just to drive them.

I will say that I do like the "patina" on this particular Z, but that I think it would look a lot better if the rust issues were addressed and the wheels had a proper fitment.

Edit: but something about that tow hook hanging off the end makes me think that the owner has different plans.

Something about the new generation of the "car scene" just rubs me the wrong way. These are kids who are working on late '80's and 1990's vehicles and have never actually had to deal with real rust issues. Its easy to sand all the paint off of your car and pee on it to get it to rust. Its not quite so easy to replace a floorpan or a rocker panel.

I'll just leave this here, as an example

Seeing as how its "un-restored" I wonder what kind of shape the floor pans are in? lol.

My thoughts exactly. I love first gen. Z cars, but I just can't get into this whole 'rust it up so its whatever' trend. When that trend dies for modern cars, what then? You're gonna be stuck buying gallons of POR15 to fix the stuff you intentionally did 2 years ago.

    Not bad.

I'm just glad I'm looking at a naturally weathered car instead of a nice one that was purposely made to look old and rusted.
