Default My Personal Car. Lexus SC300. Some Input Needed

Some old pics of my car

Hey guys, you guys have probably seem the pics of other people's cars that I post up all of the time from events and such so here is my personal car and i need some input.

I have owned this car for over 4 years, hitting 197,000+ miles on it so its due for a mid-life facelift after sustaining paint fade on the bumpers and a rear quarter panel damage from a parking lot fender bender.

Its going to get resprayed in a slightly different color - Matador Red Mica - from the latest generation Lexus cars - and it is going to get a body kit as well.

One of the things that I am torn about is wheel fitment. My wheels are 19" x 8.5" and 9.5" and I can fit 235/35/19 & 265/30/19 without any fender modifications as of now. None of that overstreched tires and it is definitely not in vogue with the latest HellaFlush styline trends.

So I am thinking of lowering it by another 1/4 - 1/2 inch and add maybe a 10mm spacer in the rear and a 5mm in the front to make it a little more flush.

However, at the current setup, I can squeeze out 20.000+ miles per set of tires without even flipping them half way at 10,000 miles. The rear camber is maxed out at 1.7 negative camber at the current height with no camber kit.

So what do you guys think?

I think its going to come down to whats more important to you, style or practicality. I know those 19" tires are crazy expensive, so you would have reservations before doing anything that would make them wear out faster.

    The car looks great btw!

You need to eliminate the fender gap. im not sure what the offset is now but... id try the 5mm that you plan on getting for the front on the rear to see how 5mms work back there.
i know you said you dont want to roll but to get a decent fitment you might have to roll just a little. ESPECIALLY with a 265 tire out back. ESPECIALLY.
unless of course you take the 265's off and get something like a 245
but yeah... all you gots left to do is work on the fitment. the car is IMMACULATE.
its odd seeing you barely wanna go an inch passed your current state. it doesn't seem to be the Cali way

I like it, if it was mine i would lower it alot more and run the spacers like you said that you are going to do.

    Nice Lexus' all around.

To reiterate the gentlemen before me, you should drop the SC some more. Depending on what kit you get will determine the style you're pursuing. Although, it appears that you're going for a VIPish look, which I believe to be one of the hotter things going on now.

And if you EVER decide to lose the wheels, contact me via PM. I'd love to have those on my 2GS.

    Thanks guys...

I am not going for the VIP look since it is not a VIP platform. I want it to be a luxury sports car. Not necessarily the best at anything but I want it to be a quick yet lucury looking car. Not a fair comparison but sort of a modified Mercedes SL. Just a grand touring type of car.

I would definitely lower it some more! Maybe 1.5 inch in front and another inch in rear. Just roll those fenders or cut and spacers

I have the kit on its way.

No need for other rims. I love my Works.
