Hail yeah. He's done most of the work to get my Civic where it is. He's a big part of our OSJC meets. They painted my car, re-lowered it and bumper tucked it. Later, QD.

He's definately good at what he does. If he said he's gonna put an engine in a car, he means it. Take for example the old school Celica with the volvo motor, lol. That shit looks good in there.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

Yep. They weren't supposed to do my car at first. I had had an appointment with another (more local) shop to do it for almost a year. The week before I was to take my car to that shop, the owner told me he was closing down that next week. Dave had already offered a while back so I called him. I'm definitely, beyond a doubt, glad I took him up and things went the way it did. Later, QD.

Looks 100% better, and congrats on doing it yourself.

One question though, are you going to get another CVCC badge for the far right side like the old dash had?

    Thanks to you and Canas.

I still have the one from the old dash and it's still in great shape. I just forgot to to put it in. I need to get a needle to pop the holes from the backside of the dash to snap it on. Later, QD.

Lolol. It still isn't running. I realized that I could see everything from underneath (which is the best vantage point anyway) so I went ahead and got it in, also hoping the grounding issue would be resolved. I'm going to crawl under and look to see if there possibly any wires that are NOT hooked up. I do know there are two wires that have o-ring connectors that are NOT hooked to anything and they could be the ground I'm missing. We'll see soon. If I get that issue fixed by this weekend, I'll be hooking up the audio equipment.

I'm ordering the carpet next week. Later, QD.

grab your voltmeter and touch it to each one of those wires with the key in the on pos and see what it shows if one gives you a reading find a bolt attached to the body hook it on there and try starting the car this may be the end of your drama. im gonna fwd this thread to my buddy bus driver j as he knows a bit when it comes to wiring

Here are two of the items that I'm sure need to be hooked to chassis. I don't know what the metal "relay" is and the black wire goes into the wiring harness that eventually goes back into the steering column. I must have misplaced (or kids got hold of them) the bolt or whatever and I don't have the correct size to try and get in on there. I found a hole on the chassis/frame under the dash where it looks like these two would screw into.

I can't find my voltmeter. I appreciate the forward. Maybe he can help out. Later, QD.

how far are you from a autozone they sell these 30 or so pc kits that are made for asian cars damn thing has saved my life more than few times when i loose a bolt i suggest you pick on one of those up

after looking at the pic im thinking maybe it goes on that bolt with the yellow paint down it i find it hard to believe that paint would be on all the threads so im thinking you unscrewed that one and the paint got on there from the nut try hooking that connector to that and screwing the bolt back up in the meantime let me see if he is online to send him this thread

I know for a fact that they weren't on either of the yellow-painted bolts. Those are much thicker and they are the bolts that hold up the steering column itself. I found the hole that it/they go into. Just need to get that bolt. Not far from the Zone but they're closed now, lolol. I'll be stopping by tomorrow.

Thanks for the forward again. Later, QD.

well before you make plans to head to the zone just loop it around the bolt and turn the key and see if it starts. you will need that kit regardless as cars as old as ours tend to have rusted, stripped nuts so this kit is a life saver i have one for both of my cars

Ok, I read this page but not sure exactly what going on. Am I right that it wont start? Does it turn over at all or does it do nothing?

The connector in pic one will not fit on the painted bolt. The connector looks like it fits a M6 bolt (10mm head) where that bigger one is a M10+ (12/14mm). That car isnt old enough to have a 12v positive with a ring connector like that. Im 99% sure its a ground, for what I couldnt tell you without looking at the car.

From this angle in pic 2, that looks like a 3 wire relay if its a relay at all (Hazard flashers are 3 wire). If its IS a relay then it more than likely needs to be grounded.

If the car ist turning over at all, the wire in pic 1 wont fix it. No starting circuit that old will have a ground control of any sort for the starter. Youll need to check for 12v at the ign switch and then 12v when in the start position at the starter.

You can PM me about it if you want. No worries...

Hey Bus Driver J, I got the car to start this evening. I got a better connection using the jumper wire. Fired up and got it running and idling well. I do know there is one more black wire with )-ring connector in the center area of the dash (which, oddly enough, is where that single click comes from too) that is not connected. I'm going to connect that here during the week or by the weekend. But I do know it does start.

    What do you think?

    Later, QD.

I used the POS battery to small wire jump. Was able to get them better connected and the starter fired right up. Had the key on and the car idled. Later, QD.

Okay cool. So you know that there is a bad connection between the ign switch and starter. Now finding the issue is the next hurdle.

Muahahaha, I have exactly what you need!!!!
    Complete 78-79 CVCC Wiring Diagram
It shows is a black/white wire from the ign switch to the Neutral Safety switch to the starter. Maybe the neutral safety isnt plugged in. I couldnt see it in the pic on the last page. All I see is the brake switch. The connector will have 2 Black wires with a white stripe.
