Interior look great!! Can't wait to see more*
Bus Driver. Here is what is making the click noise when I start the car. This is under the dash. The wires that run up into it are green/pink and solid black and then a thicker black/white wire.
I also ran a wire from the thick black wire to a ground to see if grounding was an issue and nothing happened. I also ran it from the thin black wire with no result. Later, QD.
I looked over the entire wiring diagram and didnt see any 3 pin connectors with the same wire colors. So, Im not 100% sure what thats for. Will the car still start and run without that connected (by jumping the wire at the starter)? With the key on and that unplugged, what doesnt work that you can notice?
I didn't notice anything not working and yes, the car does still start and run, lolol. I know where another car is that has one of those same relays and I'm getting it today to test it, although I don't guess it matters since the car still starts. Might as well try it. Later, QD.
If it still starts and all without it then I wouldnt worry about it.
I think you just need to find the location of the neutral switch and make sure its connected. Thats the only thing in between the ign switch and the starter.
Make sure you have power at the black/white wire on the back of the ign switch when the key is turned to the start position. If you do then the ign switch is working.
If all else fails, just runa wire from the ign switch to the starter. I hate doing stuff like that but it wil work.
Yeah I went to the PAP where they have a 78 1st gen wagon and it didn't even have one of those there.Quote:

I'd check for power at the back of the ignition switch first. According to the wiring diagram there are 4 black/white wires on the ign switch. One is power in, 2 are power out with key on, and one is power for the starter. Just make sure there is power coming out with it turned to start. If you do, run a wire from that wire to the little wire on the starter.

Was your car originally a Hondamatic, or was it a manual from the factory? If it was a Hondamatic, what did you do with the Neutral safety switch? The right way to do it is to unplug both connectors from the neutral safety switch and plug them into each other.
Before I found that out I just left the switch in, slid it to the "neutral" position and hid it under the carpet. It would wiggle out of "neutral" sometimes and the car wouldn't start untill I put it back.
It wasn't a Hondamatic. CVCCs all came with manuals. It was a 4speed converted to 5. I'm going up to Garage Zero Saturday so John can check it out. Together, I'm sure we'll conquer this the right way. Later, QD.Quote:

Thanks to John at Garage Zero, it was figured out that there are two identical wire connectors under the dash and I had mixed up the wires. Luckily nothing was damaged in doing so.
So the car is back to good and the dash swap was a success. Later, QD.
Awesome!! Glad you got everything fixed man. New dash looks great :goodjob:
That mirror is pimp.

Thanks, lolol. Later, QD.
