Don't paint the stock wheels, it looks classy as is. If you want black I think it would look much better with a/m wheels such as BBS etc...
picking up the extra set of BBS wheels this weekend!
i already did paint them and it looks SICK with the tint...
dam a down grade
LOL thats all i been hearing...downgrade or upgrade...Originally Posted by BITCHING

got a ride in it today, sickk!!..
but still slow afterall.
IIRC it's a '96 328is, it was owned by a guy on bf.c and it was on craigslist, too. Seemed like a pretty decent car, but it has lots of miles (to me, anyways).Originally Posted by speedminded
OP, sounds like you're already off to a bad start with the car. Good luck with it, seems as if you'll need it...

How about my Land Rover? I painted the roof rack and wheels(and the black on the hood to prevent glare)

What is carbon tint?
I usually get metal tint, but have never heard of carbon.
I would have left it tintless. But nice car though.
wow i like the car.... but i do like ITR's too.... hard choice
CLEAN!! I like it*
I think it looks good, but I think I would rather have the ITR instead.

Very nice...though I don't think painting the stock wheels would look very good. Silver on a silver car looks nice as it is.
Upgrade def IMO. That type R is definately respectable, but its limited IMO compared to that E36.
OP: Do plan on swapping or any plans for the motor???
Eitherway nice pick up. I also want one!! This just motivated me more to get one.
Why? For 40 more hp, different bumpers, and thicker molding? Depending what version M3 it may even have the exact same interior lol!Originally Posted by BobbyFresh
Put M3 cams and valve train in it and you have 220hp engine, halfway the difference to an M3. OBD1 conversion intake manifold and will out even more out. If you're doing suspension upgrades anyways you can get something better than M3's oem setup and still be thousands ahead.
The 328's M52 takes boost far better than the M3's S50/S52 and is reliable up to 25psi with stock internals, just needs a 0.140 Cometic head gasket and v2.0 ARP studs. You can make this car a reliable daily driven 500whp yet it's capable of well over 600 stock.
For insurance purposes I'd rather have a 318/325/328 and put a boosted M52 in it with a complete high end suspension set up. Turn the boost down for 300-350whp and you have a mean road course track day play car...500whp with a GT35 and you have a sub 12 second car, 600whp with a GT40 and it's in the 10's on slicks.

Personally, I would start with a good platform and build upon it. When it's all said and done with your hypothetical mod list and the costs associated, the M3 is just a smarter buy, IMO.
That seems like a brilliant idea painting the hood!Originally Posted by speedminded

I can't fully take the credit for it though, the rare XD version of the Discovery [off-road rally race version] has the same painted hood. I believe the Disco I XD only came in yellow though. I'm 6'-3"+ and the seats force you to sit upright so the glare is an issue, on the hood and the windshield. When I did it years ago I'm positive I was the only silver Land rover with it but if I did it again I'd use a flat black vinyl instead of paint! Even though I did it properly and even put a thin matching silver pin stripe around the edge to make it seamless.Originally Posted by TypeRPersonality

Nice!
He should have enough left over from the ITR sale to do most if not all of it, I don't know what this car cost though.Originally Posted by BobbyFresh
You can boost it your self for well under $5k, especially if you get a cast or cheaper header vs. one from 666 Fabrication that will run $1,200-1,400. ODB1 conversion and the stock DME/ECU can be tuned for multiple boost settings...or go standalone. Not a difficult process, just $$$.
he already has, M3 front & back Bumper..Originally Posted by speedminded
they who owned it.. he had work to the engine.already. its also tuned with sharp injection..Software
ha! They are aren't they, didn't really even look at the pic before lol!Originally Posted by TRDwasiq
Nice buy. A set of M3 cams for $300 and a custom OBD2 tune (TRM has it now) will get you near or above 210whp depending what's done to the car.
Oh yeah...
ITR> M3, M5 M6 or in your case I guess a 328is... Right?
i loove it..thas gna be my next car after im done with the altima
