Nice pictures. So which cars were doing the best? The Spec Miata's or the del Sol's?

lol, have yet to see a miata that can begin to hang with that del slow. They're still quick but i don't think they can even finish on the lead lap. That weekend we were running a completely stock itr bottom end with a mildly built b16 head...only 126 lbs/ft. torque! Placed 2nd overall behind Helms (1st time driving RA!) in the hatch with an LS/VTEC...if only we had the latest engine completed [anticipating around 165lbs of torque]

I think they mean the Porsche Carrera GT.... which should NOT be compared to a Noble.

Nice pics I wish I had taken my camera. I went to the inside of the track and watched from my truck at every corner. I could have gotten some nice pics. That del Sol was fast as shit... They had a really fast mustang it was red and black. Also was that a Old Nascar or some kit? Thanks for the pic

I like to get them coming down through the esses or over at the hairpin but didn't have alot of time to wander around.

I assume your talking about the black and bright ass orange built all to hell supercharged tube frame mustang? ...put some 295 R-compound rear tires on it and that thing would be the ultimate drift machine .

The "nascar" was just an old stock car. I've seen everything from one of schumacher indy cars (along with 2 or 3 others at the same time) to a 1/2 dozen 80's to early 90's nascars run on that track...it's hilarious to watch a car that is quite noticeably still set up for an oval trying to run a 12 turn course. I didn't get a chance to see that one out there but they usually have pretty harsh understeer.

I think the only thing we left with was the plaque awarding us the best handling car of the weekend..if only we had about 15 more hp we could have had 1st place.

Helms was driving the hatch that won, he's been racing in the Mid-Ohio region but recently switched to the east coast. I crew for RaceWorks [the green Del Sol's (there are two of them now, one for endurance and one for sprints)] and they have a total of about 40 races this season including Formula Mazda and Pro Formula Mazda.

The Civic SI started the Sunday race with about 40psi oil pressure...not a such a wise idea. He was also slicing up the rear tires on the fenders because the car was so low, even after rolling them. Can't remember exactly why he dropped out, it may have been the oil pressure problem.

well actually, not SSCA that weekend, but you can work through tthem also on their event weekends

I worked for Panoz, but not as a corner worker
that weekend was a Road Atlanta work day, http://roadatlanta.com/staff.lasso
call Jaqueline Blackwell if your interested

yeah, Ive seen Raceworks out there all the time

that SI has a lot of problems it seems like, starting with 40 psi is definitely not good,
last year, he had to drop out cuz his headers and exhaust were draggin on the ground

The "nascar" was just an old stock car. I've seen everything from one of schumacher indy cars (along with 2 or 3 others at the same time)

where you there for the Mitty last year?
Schumachers old Benetton was wrecked at turn 7
