well, it is an answer, but for the last, what, 50 years? we have done nothing but promote peace. So technically, this generation has NO reason to be known as anything but kind. Thats what bothers me about todays society. NOT ONE person even close to our age group today was subject to repression, but all are offended by it as if it just happened, or that it happened to them and most African-American people abuse the word "*****" as being something that only they should be able to call each other, while we can't say it to them in ajoking manner because that brings back the memory they DON'T have about being repressed. WHAT is up with all the racism lately?! Its like ever since the whole Obama thing everyone is going crazy everywhere I go! On the internet especially, but CLASS, WORK, the grocery store...I mean dammm give it a break!! I am white. Proud to be white, this is 2008 not the freaking 1800's! Like was previously stated. African americans need to get over what happend hundreds of years ago and whites need to drop it!! PERIOD! The world is never going to be better. This is getting EXTRA long and drawn out and rather padantic. But, I'm your age, and I was not only subject to blatant racism and segregation, but I was a victim of a few hates crimes in my teenage years. Now, I didn't hold it against those that didn't do it, and I'm not bitter about it. I don't dislike white people behind it and quite honestly, despite all that, I really have little (if anything) to complain about. I wish I was in the new higher tax bracket, but besides that, I'm doing alright. I don't advocate the use of the "n" word, but I will admit it's a very hard word to get rid of. I could go deeper into that word, but I won't for times sake.
However, point is, this generation, while obviously not dealing with as MUCH as generations past, still deal with many of the same issues that our ancestors dealt with. The end result typically isn't as drastic as it once was (death).
Lastly, when faced with racism, you either moan, complain and let it hold you back or you move past it. No one who's successful let it hold them back. That doesn't mean that it didn't happen. We just keep it moving. And it doesn't mean that we hate all white people. Just like white people don't like being catogorized with ALL OTHER WHITE PEOPLE, black people don't like it.

So, now that's out of the way, There's absolutely nothing wrong with being white and proud. I encourage it actually. There's nothing (to me) that's more sad than a white person who is not okay with being white. However, historically, white pride has resulted in planned destruction of other races who are NOT white.
