Default Ahhh tucked an painted trunk

Since I gutted my car I have always wanted to make it cleaner, so I decided that I would repaint everything after removing the tar, and tuck all the wires. I have just finished the trunk and here are the results:
    Before:

    AFTER:

All remaining exposed wires will be covered with this stuff,

so don't worry about the overspray on them. My next project will be doing the same to this part of the car:

Because it's rarely needed. Compare under the hood of any BMW to a Mazda or Honda and you'll see what I mean.

Lay carpet down in the back, for the couple lbs. it will weigh it will look a million times better.

most of the time, I like the "bare" look opposed to the carpet.

    just my opinion, though.

People that prefer that normally have never driven or worked on race cars.

I hated mine bare but I never got around to insulating the interior pieces like I originally wanted. Driving in the rain sucks because you can't hear anything but the roar of water against the fender wells.

I have driven and worked on race cars, I like the feeling of a gutted car. It makes me feel more connected to the car when I can hear the exhaust, hear the tires, etc. I also love the way light cars feel, another reason I like gutted cars (I know the few pounds of carpet doesn't matter, but noise isn't really cut down until you have sound deadener, insulation, carpet, moldings, etc and all that together weighs a decent amount).

At the moment, I daily drive an almost completely gutted civic hatchback and LOVE it

but the intentions of these posts aren't to argue or cause drama

I like the metal look better than carpet. As of right now, my car weighs 2,700 lbs. and makes roughly 280 crank HP N/A with just intake, chip, and exhaust. It should be in the neighborhood of 2600 lbs. soon and I may get some cams which should put me close to 300 HP...

I think it looks AWESOME!!! I'm no longer one for gutted cars, but for about a 2yr span, I was all about that. I just grew out of it though. Not to say that there's anything wrong with it. You like what you like. And I don like how clean that is.

No doubt, but for now, I drive what I like. Hopefully by then I can afford gas for a corvette... Then it will be black leather and nice full interior. lol
