Szester - just a word of advice from being around these for a few years

25 psi is a wee much unless you've seriously reinforced the engine. 20psi is the most people will really run.

Also, if you want to make the most out of the car, cut the boost down to 18psi, get a GM MAS, a wideband O2 sensor ( like an AEM UEGO ) and a MAF-T

Not calling you out, but before anyone else also gets arrogant they need to at least know some facts about these cars
i dont really know where you are going with that...its like you are agreeing with me in a really defensive tone...

you mean.... airplanes right? cause thats where Turbos came from

    Production automobiles

The first Turbo-Diesel truck was produced by the "Schweizer Maschinenfabrik Saurer" (Swiss Machine Works Saurer) 1938 [1].
The Corvair's innovative turbocharged flat-6 engine. The turbo, located at top right, feeds pressurized air into the engine through the chrome T-tube visible spanning the engine from left to right.

The first production turbocharged automobile engines came from General Motors in 1962. The A-body Oldsmobile Cutlass Jetfire and Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder were both fitted with turbochargers.

The world's first production turbodiesel automobile was also introduced in 1978 by Mercedes-Benz with the launch of the 300SD turbodiesel. Today, nearly all automotive diesels are turbocharged.
funny... i dont see Porsche mentioned.... how odd

I love the mob mentality on here. One guy posted something in a joking manner, and everyone mobs him. *sigh*

I think what he was trying to say was that the Starion was a very popular turbo car and helped start the RWD import craze back-int-he-day. Notice i said help start, not that it was THE ONLY CAR.

    History

The turbocharger was invented by Swiss engineer Alfred Büchi. His patent for a turbo charger was applied for use in 1905.[1] Diesel ships and locomotives with turbochargers began appearing in the 1920s.

    [edit] Aviation

One of the first applications of a turbocharger to a non-Diesel engine came when General Electric engineer Sanford Moss attached a turbo to a V12 Liberty aircraft engine. The engine was tested at Pikes Peak in Colorado at 14,000 feet (4,300 m) to demonstrate that it could eliminate the power losses usually experienced in internal combustion engines as a result of reduced air pressure and density at high altitude.

Turbochargers were first used in production aircraft engines in the 1930s before World War II. The primary purpose behind most aircraft-based applications was to increase the altitude at which the airplane can fly, by compensating for the lower atmospheric pressure present at high altitude. Aircraft such as the Lockheed P-38, Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and Republic P-47 all used turbochargers to increase high altitude engine power.

Actualy 13.5 is pretty decent for a Starion, with weighing a ton and a half and only having 2 injectors and a small 52mm throttle bod AND a very inefficent stock manifold... it can be hard to turn numbers out of what mitsubishi gave us. And don't even get me started about the stock intercooler routing! Damn, that was such an after thought.

I also have the Alternator mod, which requires you to engineer your own bracket since it won't bolt up to the stock bracket and also source your own Alternator. This is done because the stock alternators run outta juice and can be very pricey to repair/replace. Also i'm sure hes talking about something like the 8.55 mm Taylor or MSD plug wires where you have to buy a universal kit and kit and crimp them for your application. Just like i've done.

    Keep the questions comin' guys

Honestly, he probably should have blown a head gasket, or probably will soon enough with that boost pressure. Really the limiting factor of 1/4 mile times is the injectors with the ECU, hence why I voted up the MAF-T, wideband O2 and GM MAS. You're essentially talking about a car that hasn't had a single thing tuned ( you need stated mods to tune the car ). With a self-tune, he should be able to pull off a better 1/4 mile time.

drink bleach? goddamn your a loser. This was what Mitsu designed the car with so ppl run with it and pull the best they can from it. I guess some ppl work on a car for more than the fact that its "OMG so JDm- sht tye kool yo" i guess you didnt think of that.

If it's not negative then don't use it as an excuse why they're so slow, as with the intake manifolds, throttle bodies, and whatever else you mentioned. It's still a 2.6 (?) liter turbo...

It's not so much as slow as that after a certain point with modifications it becomes a limiter of the power you can make. I personally am quite content with my TBI setup. Well I will be more so when I can find a non-leaking primary injector ( I need to stop buying 20 year old injectors )

I should go find the Starion that had a huge aluminum spoiler on it...

I mean, don't get me wrong, I've wanted a starion/conquest for a while. I actually tried to get a local one a few times, but 13.5 with 25 psi and then being cocky about it, is just lame.
